+1...I got $29,000/year from Loyola LA and only $16,000 from Loyola Chicago, so as much as I'd rather live in Chicago, I doubt Loyola Chicago would increase their scholarship that much.aknecht wrote:$5k today. When compared to DePaul, its insane that its so low. DePaul offered me almost 4x that amount. Let's see what Kent will give me. Unless I can negotiate a huge increase from Loyola, I don't think I can justify it.

Has anyone tried negotiating with them?

Re: Loyola Chicago
I got $7,500 per year with a GPA requirement of 3.0. I'm going to try to negotiate up to $10,000 because Kent gave me that much with no GPA stipulation, but I am also applying to a lot of outside scholarships so hopefully things will balance out.

In with $21k/year. Still pretty hard to justify how expensive the rest of the tuition is. : /
Anyone know of any good outside scholarship websites?

This is going to sound dumb. But my scholarship letter was vague... It says 16k, but doesn't expressly say 'per year' anywhere. I'm 163/3.3, Kent gave me 20/year, depaul 18/year, so this had better be a per year offer from loyola. Just wanted to check.

Yep..that'll be 16k/year. I agree on the vagueness of it though.miazdc wrote:This is going to sound dumb. But my scholarship letter was vague... In today via email! Anyone know why Loyola is giving out so much less than DePaul and Kent generally? I hadn't applied to the other two but after reading your comments I am considering it.

anything with numbers similar to mine get a scholarship offer they are willing to share. I am trying to gauge what kind of scholarship offer I could get form Loyola.

Re: Loyola Chicago
165/3.6-$21k/yr as long as I remain above 3.0, if gpa goes down, scholly is cut in half until it goes back up. Also got "invitation" to apply for the health law fellowship, which I think would increase to full tuition plus stipend.beidoun wrote:anything with numbers similar to mine get a scholarship offer they are willing to share. It seems as though 21k/year is the max they are giving out...could be wrong though.

I believe that is true.nsideirish wrote:It seems as though 21k/year is the max they are giving out...could be wrong though.

Okay so my status checker just updated to decision made. It seems like there is a lag between this update and the actual notification of the decision. How long til the checker updates? Or will you get the email first. I am excited yet freaked out right now.

I got an email, they didn't put it on the status checker. If you are being admitted it will say so in the email, if it's an ambiguous email "a decision has been made and we are sending a letter in the mail" it seems to mean WL or reject. I'm not sure if anyone has been admitted without receiving an admissions email.Sicsofs wrote:Okay so my status checker just updated to decision made. There was a lag between the time of my decision made and the e-mail I got. Took a day or two.

Re: Loyola Chicago
And the ambiguous email hath cometh. I am actually really surprised by this one. Looking at LSN, I had figured that despite my lower numbers, i would get in via email as there were lower numbers that were accepted. I guess my 7 years in the army, 2.5 years in Iraq, fluency in Arabic (MSA and Iraqi), Interrogations at GTMO, URM status, Summa Cum Laude honors, and epic personal statement were no match for someone with a year in the peace corps. I guess I will hold out for the wait list, i hope. Ahhhhhhhhhh this really sucks. I wanna drop F-bombs galore right now but i am going to hold my tongue until I get the official word.

Hey guys, just got the dreaded waitlist/reject e-mail today, 2/21, though the decision was made 2/18. Let's hope for waitlist? I have quite the sinking feeling though.. :/

I'm confused.... Summa Cum Laude, coupled with "despite my lower numbers?"Sicsofs wrote:And the ambiguous email hath cometh. I am actually really surprised by this one. I assume you have a higher GPA and low LSAT then? How low...because as we've all found out on TLS, you could have cured cancer, but you're not getting into law school with a 140. Are you at least 155+? Otherwise, retake.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
