I'm going to let it sit and go back and revise it tomorrow.
It's a subject which I find interesting, but I wonder if it's one that many people have written about?
Hopefully that won't be counted against me.
I think it might.

Haha I have been trying to write a 250 for the past 4 months.

"Trying"=I was trying back in November/December, have largely given up now. But maybe by the end of this week, if only to get my mom and bf off of my back about it.

Write something 500 words, then edit it down.

I haven't gotten a complete email. My UG sent in their form a couple weeks ago. Should I be worrying or does Yale generally take some time before going complete?

Is this true? So I might not know if they received my materials before the deadline?

The deadline is only a submission deadline, not a complete deadline.

This is very good to know. My undergrad Dean's Cert will be coming from Asia (just Fedexed the form yesterday), and I was a bit worried it might not make it to Yale in time.

Check out the twitter, guys:
Busy week in the AO. More admits later this week and the first round of bad news should hit the mail on Friday or Monday.

Nope served directly, along with court papers. They are suing all dinged applicants for damages for wasting their time.

My app was received 1/4, and I just sent an email to see whether anything from my end (e.g. dean's cert) was holding it up. Got an auto-email back saying that they couldn't respond to individual queries. Do I call? Website says no calls, but auto-email said calling was OK. Not sure where that leaves me ...

(BTW: Undergraduate and graduate deans sent their certs in late October, more than a couple of months before I submitted my application.)

1) It takes a long time to receive an app completed e-mail.
2) That is an automatic response regarding the enquiries. FTR, I sent an enquiry regarding the Dean's Certs and in which cases I needed to send them, and they replied a few days later.

So I guess I wouldn't have e-mailed, but now that you have, I'd at least wait a couple days before calling.

Whoops sorry that one's me. I'll put the debate to rest. I put the date in the wrong slot, but it's all fixed now. Good luck to everyone!
