Jeez how much longer from 'final Review' before I get an answer...Does anyone have any idea?

TY!! :)

I went into final review yesterday and was deferred today. I'm going to ride it out as long as I can. What is an "LOCI?"

Edit: Letter of Continued Interest?

Jeez that was fast! I hope I get an answer that fast too.

LOL! LOCI is a Letter of Continued Interest.
well I've read that deferred is a little better then being wait listed. I don't know....

Just out of curiosity, where did you read that being deferred is better than being waitlisted? I was under the impression that the two were similar, if not the same thing... How did you send your LOCI?

Okay, so now when someone finally asks me I can't find the link! Just figures. At any rate, here's a link on some helpful tips for those that are on "hold".

--LinkRemoved--

I sent an email, but that's informal. I did it that way because I am still in review. If I was deferred or wait listed I would send the letter in the mail.

I went into Final Review today, too.

Naturally, as I was planning to deposit tomorrow morning at another school. Really Kent, really? Argh.

Didn't mean to call you out on it, but I think you answered the question with the link you sent. At the end of the passage are further links for reviewing (like the one below). They all pretty much discuss what a "hold" means and it seems to be similar to being "deferred." Basically, the law school likes your application and considers you a strong candidate, but they don't want to over-admit too many students. Of course, this is a rosy spin to the situation. Another way to put it is that they've already admitted more people qualified than yourself and before admitting you, who would bring their admission metrics down (my numbers are both below the medians), they are praying that a satisfactory number of admits will pay their seat deposits. haha ahhh :(

Perfect. The article I saw was something similar to this except written by a female.

Thanks, good luck to you too! I went ahead and deposited at another school this morning, so I'm sure Kent's decisions will come out any time now. Hah. Even if I'm accepted though, they'd have to really wow me to get me to say goodbye to the $450 deposit I just put down.

"The Admissions Committee has completed an initial evaluation of your application for admission to the entering class. The Committee's conclusion is to defer a final decision regarding your application until later in the admissions cycle."

Oh, big whoop. I'd say that's a deny, this late in the cycle.
In review since 2/7, final review 4/12, for what that's worth.

They would have just rejected you. Looks like you were wait listed. I don't think they have any problems saying "deny".

When did you last check your status checker? We have the exact same dates. I just went on-line and I'm still in final review since 4/12.

Thank you! 6:12 in IL...I guess they haven't "decided" yet.
The longer they take, the more nervous I get.

Have a Great Weekend!

They received my LOCI on 4/12, I went into final review 4/12, then was deferred 4/15. I'm not going to immediately send them another LOCI because I have nothing new to put, so I'm not sure what to do. Maybe I will get another LOR to add on to the million I already submitted.
:( what's going on with my application?? You guys went final review on 4/12 and you received a decision today. I just checked again...and it still says final review.

Previous in this blog a few pages back...someone posted a comment saying that they called admissions and was told that they start looking at deferred applicants after 4/15.

I just received an email from Dean Krent stating that I am accepted! I'm very excited!

The decision for my application was deferred on April 12 and I promptly arranged a visit to sit in on a class, tour the law school, and meet with an admissions counselor on April 22. I'm still going to do these things on Friday, but having the acceptance makes it that much sweeter! I will definitely be attending in the fall. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
