Give me a break about this whole admitted students site conspiracy theory bullshit. I'm so sick of hearing about it. Do you people really think they are going to reject an applicant who they would otherwise admit because that applicants wants into their school so bad that they repeatedly check the admitted students site? I don't think so. Even with the whole Michigan bullshit, do you really think it would affect the admissions process? Like really?

I couldn't get on to Michigan's admitted site for days after I got my admissions packet. So even if you can't log in, it doesn't mean you aren't admitted, but it makes you feel anxious and horrible.

Client, my comments were not directed to you, just a general frustration. Your comment got quoted cause it was the nearest.

Why weren't they amused? Do they think we're stupid/need lives?
Ummm lemme look for that thread, I don't remember the specifics  Just a sec
Here's the direct quote dulc:

And yes I meant the admitted students website, not the status checker.

I checked about 5 times a day until I was admitted last year. I don't believe what was said about the checker.

I develop and manage web applications. You have to do extra work to log/analyze/track failed login attempts.

Hahaha I know I'm sorta good at that.

Eski - I think a reasonable amount, like once every couple of days, should be fine. I think during that period last cycle people were going a bit crazy & trying it every 5 minutes or something.

+1. I've never heard of/seen Dean Z or any other primary source saying, "We track login attempts and consider them when reviewing applications." It really doesn't make any sense for them to do so, and the notion that it "bogs down" their site is semi-absurd. Unless they have absolutely shit servers (which seems unlikely), it's kind of ridiculous to think something short of a concerted effort to overload the site would crash/lag-out the servers. There just aren't enough people trying to get in. Then there's also the issue of Dean Z having to re-check updated lists while reviewing applications. The only plausible scenario would involve some IT guy giving her a list of the "top 10/50/100 worst offenders" (how evil of an introduction to LS curves would that be?) or a list of people who've exceeded some pre-determined threshold of attempts, and even then it seems a bit iffy.

Not to derail the thread, but good for you after that Duke debacle!
And since our numbers are pretty close, hopefully we'll both end up with some nice acceptances :D

Edit: To make this post more topic-related, here's hoping to an unlikely acceptance (retaker).

Yeah I'm an LSAT retaker too :(

But based on past threads, NYU seems to overlook it if your latest score is significantly higher. I really hope they do haha

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
