+10000000. Anyone else UR2 - 1/9
me.
What do you think our odds are for a waitlist instead of a ding? Becoming increasingly pessimistic by the hour.
I was WL by them last year. So I'm guessing for me pretty high, since I withdrew last year and I didn't become a worse candidate in the past year...so I wouldn't give up too much hope, at least on my account.
Lol fam, my status hasn't changed since 10/24....
yeah, last year i went complete end of november and was WL the last day they sent out responses...my cycle has basically been the same for the schools I reapplied to, with one school flipping from WL to accept. just still waiting on Columbia and NYU, where my patterns have pretty much held (Hold at CLS, be patient email @ NYU). so if things play out the same (as they seem to be) I think you could still be WL, tho obviously I don't know about your #s or anything.

165, 3.9 URM. I think LSN has me at 93 percent chance of acceptance or something, but at this point I think I'll be WL At best. Interesting, though, and Good luck with your cycle

Does anybody know how to deal with deadlines at schools at which you have an offer and being on waitlist elsewhere? NYU needs my decision by May 1 but I have heard that HLS has people coming off waitlist in Aug. Any advice?

You can matriculate at NYU (submit deposit) and stay on Harvard's waitlist as long as you want.

Yeah there's a certain point where you'll have to withdraw from all other schools you''ve been admitted to and can't be double deposited, but you can ride the waitlists forever if you want.

Rigo, not sure if you saw my post in the Northwestern thread, but what about pending apps? do we have to withdraw those if we accept money elsewhere?

I'm not sure enough to give a blanket statement but I think it depends on the school.
I've seen schools wanting you withdraw all "pending" apps as well, which includes everything but waitlisted schools.

So to technically comply, I'd wait until the last possible day to deposit just incase you get waitlisted or accepted at NYU between now and then.

I don't think they really check adherence to that policy though, and the more strict language may only involve the second deposit rather than the initial deposit. The second deposit some places has a more strict letter of intent type thing.

yeah, the language for NU is really not too strict for this initial deposit -
I accept my scholarship and plan to enroll at Northwestern Law, beginning Fall 2017. A non-refundable $750 tuition deposit will be received by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at Northwestern Law by noon CST on the date outlined in my scholarship notification letter.

so I think pending apps are fine. I withdrew all of my acceptances anyway so I'm in the clear there.

Oh yeah that's completely lax. Deposit away!

NYU have an exceptionally high waitlist acceptance rate. About 30-34% of those who choose to stay on, usually. This year especially, with what feels like a lot of waitlist decisions being thrown around and even Spivey saying he broadly expects a lot of waitlist movement this summer, an NYU waitlist certainly doesn't seem like a guaranteed rejection. Just making the most of a bad situation I guess. I'm sure a lot of people here will be posting about their newfound acceptances in the NYU c/o 2020 waitlist thread 1-3 months from now.

This whole deposit discussion is getting me confused. For first deposit, can we deposit at multiple schools?

Depends on the school's language on the deposit. For instance NYU has you sign (digitally) a form that indicates that you will withdraw from all other schools and will not request to be reinstated for any other school. Northwestern has much more lax language that would allow you to dual deposit for them.

I already registered for it. I was being overly optimistic, I realize. 25 < GPA < 50, LSAT < 25.

Are you hoping to get off waitlists with a June retake or reapplying? I'm hesitant to be a reapplicant because I have full scholarships at lower ranked schools that I would be giving up. Right now, I'm on four waitlists, so I figure it's worth a shot either way.
I'm hoping to get off the waitlist. I'm GPA > 75 and 75> LSAT > 50. So if I pick up any additional points it will also be helpful at CC and H.

do they seriously think that those who were not admitted and RSVP'd would just show up?
