As a waitlister and Duke summer starter, should I let NYU know that they're still my first choice although I'm starting school in a month?

On one hand, I want to tell them how much I <3 them, as if 2 LOCI weren't enough.

On the other hand, what if, despite all that, they go straight to assuming a summer starter won't really ditch everything to move to NY?

I think I will love Duke, and in many ways, it's a wonderful school for me. But for personal, familial and career interest reasons, I cannot let go of NYU and NYC.

It sounds like you're in NYC ? Maybe stop by NYU admissions and ask to speak with someone briefly about it. If you don't want to do that, or can't, then write them again.

at this point, adcoms want students that want their school. If you are willing to immediately accept and pay sticker, let NYU know. The issue is that you have no numbers to offer them, since you are below both medians. Perhaps a gender boost?

I didn't get a call, and I didn't really write a full LOCI. I replied to the waitlist offer (abt 2 weeks ago) immediately with a very firm response that NYU remained my top choice and I would attend if admitted... I was actually planning to write a full one but they got back to me so quickly, I didn't get around to it yet!

I need to withdraw. I'm still emotionally attached to the idea of an NYU acceptance but I know I'm screwing people over.

If I can't afford NYU at sticker, then I guess I can't say in a loci that I'll immediately withdraw from others if admitted right?
