3rd update for me today... Comp 3/7, 3/12, 3/15... No USA yet and no interview request.

How many updates have people generally had before being asked to interview, getting accepted w/o an interview, or getting dinged?

Sorry if this has been answered already, but the search feature on TLS is terrible, and I couldn't find a solid answer in the last 20 pages... just trying to gauge my chances...

My application was complete on 1/27 and I was told about the interview with no update on 2/23. My interview was on 3/6.

I was updated on 3/12 with the addition of my full address (no USA), but nothing since.

So I've had only two updates, occurring over a much longer time span.

Nothing like making us guess, huh?

Visited the campus and sat in on class today. The prof seemed decent and the students were all super nice. Campus looked fine, too.

i live within 45 mins of gulc and still haven't visited. i wonder if this is a bad sign...

Well, I'm sure you have some slightly better options to consider. They're the only T14 I've gotten into, so it's basically them or UT for me at this point (I'm not expecting much from Mich)... Kinda wish I had applied to more than them and Mich now, though >.>

aw, i can relate to the feeling of wishing to have applied to more schools (kicking myself for not applying to nyu/chicago/nu). on the bright side, gulc is an excellent school and maybe there's hope for michigan yet? if i hadn't spent so much of my life in the d.c./va area, i think i would be way more excited abt gulc. it's just hard to appreciate the awesomeness of being down the road from scotus when u went on a field trip to the wash monument in kindergarden, had a senatorial internship in high school (which i got bc i lived nearby--not bc im a special snowflake, bc im so not), have parents 20 mins away, and get motion sickness w/i 30 seconds of setting foot on the metro. that being said, i'm grateful for my acceptance and should probs give gulc a fair shake before walking due to geography...

Does anyone know how soon after your status updates the wl/reject email comes?

I had an interview on 3/7, update on 3/8 (assuming that was the interview stuff processing) and update again yesterday afternoon 3/15- but no USA and no change from both to FT or PT. I called this morning and they said they can't tell you if a decision has been made but that it's "under review"...

I'm thinking they have made it, but am just hoping I find out soon! This waiting stuff is for the birds.

Also on preferred waitlist. I think there is some hope just because Georgetown experiences huge turnover. I'm not expecting anything until after the first deposit deadline though. I sent in a Why GULC statement but you probably covered that in your LOCI. I'm sending in an LOCI a little later and also hopefully an alumni recommendation.

sorry if this has been asked multiple times but i just got placed on the preferred waiting list and was wondering what the "special group" is. According to the email, it said that people placed on the preferred waiting list are those that will receive the strongest consdieration and the first ones to be contacted if spaces become available. Then what is the special group?? Also do you think it would be better for me to send in a why gulc statement or one of those optional essays that i havent submitted when i applied? any advice would greatly help!!!

I have the same question as I received an identical email today to Schang1 and am not sure if I should be cautiously optimistic or not as I have seen numerous individuals being admitted off of the "special preferred" waitlist. Any insight would be appreciated!

Ahh sorry if fhat wasn't clear...if you are in the special "group" it would have said "you have been placed in a special group on our preferred waitlist". If it doesn't say that, you're just on the reg preferred WL.

There are so many freaking WLs at this school, i feel like i need an advanced degree just to decipher the whole lrocess..

No, they have your application, it's just moving through their review process. This is totally normal! Before I was accepted I went through 5 status updates.

Hey guys, I was also a splitter put on the SPWL about 3 weeks ago. I submitted a LOCI literally the same day (it was right before spring break so obv I wouldn't have done it for awhile after haha). I got my acceptance letter today actually. I updated thurs, fri (with an address expand), mon (with a usa). I generated ASW credentials Monday night and got access Friday at midnight. Let me know if you have other questions!
