brace yourselves for what is probably a really silly question. i was just accepted to berkeley despite being out of state and submitting my application within a week of the deadline. should this give me any hope whatsoever that i will get a JS1?
i'm not on hold and i've been UR since january

She is dipping into the HELD pile now and seems to have looked over most of the late submitters. No news could be good news, but hell... I've been aboard a pessimistic-train as of lately... Best of luck.Geneva wrote:brace yourselves for what is probably a really silly question. i was just accepted to berkeley despite being out of state and submitting my application within a week of the deadline. should this give me any hope whatsoever that i will get a JS1?

also JS1 today... two questions, i dunno how short "short" was but mine was just over 10 minutes, she gave quite long answers to the questions i asked and she was very nice, especially about the whole time zone difference thing. think i rambled too much (and therefore didn't sound like having a completely confident answer) on the question of why i was reapplying.PopTorts13 wrote:JS1 today...Two questions were asked and I asked a couple. Mine was slightly less than 8 minutes and I enthusiastically answered questions, but tried to keep my answers concise and meaningful. Would you be willing to PM each other to talk about your experience? Thank you~!bk641 wrote:also JS1 today... two questions, i dunno how short "short" was but mine was just over 10 minutes, she gave quite long answers to the questions i asked and she was very nice, especially about the whole time zone difference thing. think i rambled too much (and therefore didn't sound like having a completely confident answer) on the question of why i was reapplying.PopTorts13 wrote:JS1 today...Two questions were asked and I asked a couple. I just finished mine too, she only asked two questions but it ended up being around 12 minutes, since one of her questions was rather open ended. Now time to start worrying about every little aspect of it, I think I need a beerPopTorts13 wrote:Mine was slightly less than 8 minutes and I enthusiastically answered questions, but tried to keep my answers concise and meaningful. My interview is scheduled today at 5 to 6 ESP, but I never received the call. I tried to call them but no one answered because it was past 6 pm. I changed my phone, but have emailed them about it and got the confirmation. Anyone has same experience? Thx!

Definitely call the office tomorrow and find out what was going on. I would also check the online status checker to see if the phone number was updated and if the "interview scheduled" item was in there. Good luck and you will be fine!mjitbswyd wrote:My interview is scheduled today at 5 to 6 ESP, but I never received the call. I tried to call them but no one answered because it was past 6 pm. The "interview scheduled" is there. The phone number is not updated on the website but that is probably because I did not email them until morning. I will call them at 9 tomorrow. Thank you!poultry wrote:Definitely call the office tomorrow and find out what was going on. Is held>no news at this point for January submitters? Trying to give myself a reality check. Totally didn't think I would get into Boalt and did, so am having unrealistic Harvard hopes...

Ridiculous speculative question of the day:
Is it better/worse for a URM to receive a JS1 after a hold, or to receive a JS1 around two months after complete email without a hold??

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Equally speculative answer: better without the hold. A two-month wait with no hold might just mean that it took them that long to review your file, but the hold means they did review your file and were unsure.lawguy2015 wrote:Ridiculous speculative question of the day:

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
