Still need to do some more research, but it looks like UC-Irvine and Columbia were both competing for it, and clearly in that scenario CLS loses out. I'll dig a little further, though.

maybe if UMass agrees to buy it and have it be a branch campus, that will help push through the accreditation

Getting into a strong public university system like UMass would be a big first step for Columbia, I agree.

Well maybe CLS is accredited, but let's pump the brakes for a second before we put it in the NYU / Fordham tier.

I mean, sure, it's in the same city but that hardly makes it the same caliber. would you compare the prestigious UIC with northwestttern-kent polytechnic?

Reserve. First non-reject in a while. It was a moral victory.

Anyone think 600 or so words is too much for a LOCI? It's still all on one page (albeit with adjusted margins), I just have a lot to say.

P.S. Also, since it is agreed that single space is alright, is 11pt font too small?

As long as it is all relevant, I don't see a problem.

Maybe. Well for me, Duke @ 90k less than CLS makes a lot more sense because I want to practice in the South.

You might create one to see if others have had similar issues in terms of accessibility--if you're experiencing this at a schools like American and Santa Clara, I can only imagine what others might have gone through at less "reputable" (or so I thought) institutions. You might find some suggestions, but also give others a place to vent their experiences as you seem to be so forthcoming about your own situation. Just a thought.

Well, based on what little information I could glean from LSAC's website, Columbia has been accredited by the ABA since at least October 2009.

EDIT: Based on more research, it seems that Columbia is doing everything it can to keep its status as an accredited law school, and it seems at least somewhat unlikely to lose its accreditation in the near future.

NYU is not of the same caliber as CLS? Furthermore, I was not aware that NYU and Fordham were in the same tier, apparently far below Columbia :? As a soon-to-be NYU'er, I was hoping that we could all just get along!

At the risk of sounding obtuse and/or condescending, I'm gonna go ahead and let you know that that was a joke.

Edit: Also, if you're a soon-to-be NYUer, why are you torturing yourself by lurking in the Thread of Misery? Or are you laughing at our pain?

Frankly I'm worried that people will think I'm talking about a public South American university if I tell them I'm going to CLS. I don't want people thinking I go to a state school!

=)I'm not so sure I have the energy to fight them. I'm also fighting Dept of Rehab. They say they I don't "need" to go to law school. I also highly believe when God closes one door, He opens a better one. I already tried fighting AU the whole last year, and I don't really wanna go somewhere I'm not welcomed. I've been doing that my whole life. I'm a bit just tired of it. I think I'll try creating a thread after I finish researching for an article on Russian, Ukrainian, EU gas relations, but I'm not sure there are very many people interested in this. If you want, I can PM you many more funny stories like this to make you laugh lol! Humor keeps life going!

Dinged! I'm pretty sure I didn't even blink -- was more bummed/surprised to see that Netflix sent me a movie I had already seen.

Good luck to all of you!
