He started off with, "So now you're finishing up TFA, that's really cool." :wink:

He was one of the best, most reassuring phone interviewers I've ever had, but I still felt my voice shaking for the first two minutes.

I asked about not graduating with my cohort because I hope to add an MBA if I get a JR2. He said there were 28 joint JD/MBA people now, and that they'd have the same advisor, etc. I hope I get to be the 29th, cause it sounds wonderful to have such a small group within the larger class.

I wait.
Congrats Johnny! Did he tell you at the end that they would re-review your file and get back to you?

That's what I've been thinking, too, but Wednesdays might still be good for JR1s as well. I can't say for certain yet.

HLSHopes,

Thanks for the well-wishes!

As far as the end of the conversation, he did mention that they would be making their final decision soon. I don't remember if he used the exact words you wrote, but he definitely implied that there was still more of a process to go through.

I got a complete e-mail this morning, which about gave me a heart attack; I seemed to remember people receiving holds/rejections from e-mails and only acceptances by calls (on Mondays?). The e-mail was just letting me know that all my application pieces were in order. We'll see what that means. :?

Is that true? What's the process? You get scheduled for the next week, then (hopefully) the JR2 the Monday after that?

It's a running joke here, sorry. We all are desperate for a JR1 email and Harvard's been pretty silent (except for last Friday).

In all honesty it appears JR is sending out his emails on Fridays now and JR2s happen on mondays.

Can anyone confirm the financial aid forms HLS needs? In the rare chance I'm admitted, I want to know which forms and the deadline/s.

They have their own they send you once you're admitted (not that I would know from personal experience). Also, FAFSA.

In all seriousness it seems like all the non-JR2s this month (holds/waitlists/rejections/JR1 calls) are coming out on Fridays.

HOLD THE LINE!

depends on your profile. if you are less than 29 and applying for grants (there is a quicker loans-only option) :

--> parents taxes
--> parents real-estate info
--> need access (taxes, bank accounts, # students in college, vehicles, etc)
--> student loan info (both you and parents)

this list can be added to or subtracted from depending on your profile. the most important thing would be to make sure your parents have done their taxes.

Ok, apologies, I haven't been following this thread religiously... but I have to ask:

Are you saying that you had a JR1 phone chat BEFORE you got an application complete e-mail from H?

I thought we get an 'application complete' e-mail right before the completed app heads to the committee (or JR) for review and then we get a call (assuming we make it to the JR1 bin)? No? :?
You can go complete before or after the call, many candidates get the JR1 email or even call before they go complete.

is it really still all quiet on the harvard front?

i guess this does follow the pattern from last year in which not much happened between 2/11 and 3/3 or so.

So I have heard of the rule against drinking alcohol before noon. Is there a similiar rule against freaking out about Harvard apps?

It follows naturally.

One ought not do the latter without access to the former.

+1

Also, what are your numbers if you don't mind?
Applied mid/late Nov, complete about a month later. 175/3.88.

Good luck to everyone else!
