it could be that they're going in alphabetical order for the WAITLISTSlastsamurai wrote:Within the first 6 letters, so I don't think that's it
it would be more useful to us if we knew the order of the people who've already been waitlisted
but dear lord, please, nobody answer this, because i could not care less about the manner in which stanford is going to ding me, and timeline at this point is like, which day within the next week will it be, and for that, i don't really care either.

For the record (although bom dgaf), I know 3 waitlisted people, and they did not find out in alphabetical order

I'm just gonna deposit at another school today. No more waiting for the extremely improbable last minute Hail Mary from Faye.

DLS sometime in the last 24 hours. Last name in the middle of the alphabet. My cycle is finally over! Flirting with potentially getting into Stanford these last six months has been fun, but hopefully I'll see some of you at NYU.

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Still waiting here.
FWIW I just called Stanford to ask for clarification, but I didn't get any special insider info. They said they're making decisions daily and hope to have them all done by April 30 and are giving some priority to applicants who have told them they have another deadline approaching.
I did get one useful piece of information. I had heard somewhere that other schools can't force you to make a final decision until you had heard back from all schools, so I asked them about that as well. What they said was that other schools can force you to commit to them and make a deposit by their deadline, but they cannot force you to withdraw from schools you haven't heard from. My understanding is that if the deadline at your next top school rolls around, you should accept and give them a deposit but can keep your Stanford app alive. Then if you get into SLS you can accept but will probably lose your deposit at school #1. At least, that's how I understood one person on the phone, let me know if I'm wrong on that.
Good luck waiters, sorry rejects.

I don't mean this sarcastically - but does anyone NOT have a deadline? I thought most deadlines were May 1st.IrishJew wrote:Still waiting here.

it seems like everyone who has asked for decisions because deadlines are coming up got waitlisted, so I don't think I'd suggest anyone do thatIrishJew wrote:Still waiting here.

It seems unlikely that you'd be about to get in and then get waitlisted because you asked for your decision.james.bungles wrote:it seems like everyone who has asked for decisions because deadlines are coming up got waitlisted, so I don't think I'd suggest anyone do thatIrishJew wrote:Still waiting here.

sorry to hear...glad you have a decision though!a.sleepyhead wrote:DLS as of this morning - breathing a sigh of relief/disappointment (mostly relief).
when you say "this morning," could you give a range during which it might have occurred? (i.e. the second-to-last time you checked and the last time you checked?)

Haha sorry BOM, was sorta busy with my Columbia aid shenanigans (as you know), so I didn't check until around 11:30am, and the last time I had checked before that was about 24hrs prior.barrelofmonkeys wrote:sorry to hear...glad you have a decision though!a.sleepyhead wrote:DLS as of this morning - breathing a sigh of relief/disappointment (mostly relief).

Yeah yale doesn't qualify as the slowest in terms of releasing decisions anymore. It's funny cause I thought yale would be the worst the beginning of this cycle. But stanford and columbia are showing their true colors.

But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful,
Like a rainbow
Thank you, Cyndi Lauper!

Is anyone else having issues when they try to log in? It says my username does not exist, and I know that I'm typing it correctly.
I think I've been subtly rejected... Nice troll Stanford.
