For those who just got accepted off reserve and have scholarship offers at similarly ranked schools, are you going to pay the $900 deposit even though we probably won't be receiving any merti/need-based money info before the deadline? Cornell at sticker is kind of scary.

Did everyone that got in have the 5/14 and 5/22 updates?

It seems like everyone but me with those updates got in. Right?

No, with 100K at Georgetown I would have to know how much aid I was receiving at Cornell to be willing to drop $900 bucks on a deposit. Also, it does not sound like they have much money left, and we would not hear about aid money before the deadline.

Like everyone I am pretty stoked to have my only T14 acceptance thus far, but does anyone know if they will negotiate scholarships for peeps off the waitlist?

I heard last year they didn't and that they typically run out of scholarship funds for waitlisters. Any incite?

That's the impression I'm under. I don't know, though.

I got in off reserve yesterday, super dooper excited. gotta make some tough choices now, i emailed financial aid and it's looking like we aren't getting much.....hmmm Cornell at sticker or BU 20k/year. the heart says Cornell, and the head is busy finishing school. I'll definitely make the deposit. do we know if it's one 900 dollar deposit and that's it? because my status checker says there are two deposits.

What did the financial aid office say? It is just one $900 deposit. The status checker says two because for the earlier admits, it was a 300 and 600 deposit. If you don't think you're going to attend at sticker, you might not want to put down the deposit since you have to withdraw from all other schools you deposited at by June 4.

Oh man :( this makes me sad.

I haven't updated at all since the reserve email in jan. and I submitted in early November.

Regardless, congrats to everyone that got in!

On reserve with the 5/17 update. If they waitlist me I'll be attending UT Austin -- it's just too late to wait any longer.
