Got an email saying my early decision has been deferred to the regular admission cycle.

Anyone else get deferred? Is that better or worst than being waitlisted?

i'm wondering this as well. (although ive been waitlisted)

With a deferment, your application is guaranteed another look with the RD batches.

With a waitlist, there's no guarantee that the committee will ever see your application again.

Neither has a stellar chance of admittance, but one is certainly better than the other.

Haven't been following this thread but my status check says "Decision Rendered" for 12/21 and "Application Complete" for 12/22. I was not interviewed. Does this mean a decision has been mailed to me? How long should I expect to wait? I'm an hour outside DC.

I didn't try until a few days after actually, however I'm sure if you're admitted you'll be able to. They wouldn't bother putting any kind of delay on it in case someone got their letter sooner then expected. It would be pretty frustrating to get the letter and then have the site tell you that you can't log on.

Yay! GP, you went DR? Definitely means we're in. My status says the same as everyone elses with the two dates and I interviewed back on 11/19. Finally.

Those who can't log in to the admitted students website, I wouldn't worry. I doubt Georgetown's system is like Michigans (or others) that lets you log in before you get your letter. Just wait it out.

If you look at LSN, all of the rejections I saw (I didn't look at all of them, and not everyone reports this) were done via e-mail. So I don't see why they would reject us via snail mail.

Deferred via email this morning... oh well, I've gotten farther in this process than I ever thought I would with Georgetown.

Held at Georgetown...what does this mean exactly? They're not going to look at my application until late Jan? Is this better or worse than a waitlist?
