Reminds me of LSAC saying official release days are always the day they determined earlier, even as they're releasing scores early.Pozzo wrote:Seems as though they're really not going to show their hand much on the timeline. Oh well.

Yeah tbh a wave today would've been a disasterPozzo wrote:Just giving us time to hit 180.pretzeltime wrote:so true.Smc1994 wrote:pretzeltime wrote:really pissed my posi vibes did not manifest js2s if im honest

Now the only question is, can we rein ourselves in? I think we ought to leave at least a 20-post cushion on 180 in case of new people posting unawares or blatant trolls. I'm gonna go post in the TLS C/O 2020 thread instead, personally.
If there's no wave on Friday, I guess we just give up and enter the darkest timeline.

Everyone. I check my phone and it is a missed call. I check the area code and it's 617...boston. I listen to it and it falls on deaf ears as I hear "admissions board" and "congratulations". At the end of the message I hear "BU Law". I relisten to it to make sure. It was Boston University lol I trolled myself!

Congrats on the acceptance to BU, though! Good school, from what I've heard.

Is someone keeping a list of the JS2 waves this cycle?

How long does it take for them to update your status checker/email after a JS2? Just curious as I am going out of the country soon so might not be able to get a call.

Hi all....I'm new. Sorry to be so naive, but what's the deal with hitting 180?

I submitted 1/2 and went complete 3/1 and got js1 request same day and did it 3/2 so your anecdotal evidence is supplementedKateMcKitten wrote:*raises hand* submitted 1/9, went complete 2/14. I have a theory, though, that they look at apps in the order that they were submitted, not went complete, since I had a particularly short JS1 turnaround. So, simply because I likely submitted earlier than others who went complete in mid-February, my app went to the top of the stack.ChambanaMan wrote:Has anyone who went complete after February 1st heard anything back yet?
Source: 100% speculation based on anecdotal evidence.

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
It started out as a bad joke that we clung to long after it stopped being funny (originates in LSAT wait threads, because LSAT waiters are superstitious folk--if the thread reaches 180 on Grey Day, everyone gets a 180). The modified form holds that if this thread is on page 180 when the first JS2 is reported in it, everyone who's posted in the thread (including you) will be admitted into HLS.HonestlyThough wrote:

but at this point it's also an actual sincere superstition. Gives us the illusion of control because being powerless is nerve-wracking.

180 is just a lucky number for us. It's both a perfect LSAT and the biglaw starting salary.HonestlyThough wrote: Hi all....I'm new. Sorry to be so naive, but what's the deal with hitting 180?
