"Samford" looks too much like "Stanford" at quick glance, shouldn't be allowedTheKisSquared wrote:hahahaha +180, just got this too.coldmonkey13 wrote:Dear Cumberland law school,

It has to be on purpose. I always wonder where the line between "misleading/weeding out" and "predatory" is, though.pterodactyls wrote:"Samford" looks too much like "Stanford" at quick glance, shouldn't be allowedTheKisSquared wrote:hahahaha +180, just got this too.coldmonkey13 wrote:Dear Cumberland law school,

Anyone who is dumb enough to mistake Samford for Stanford shouldn't be applying to Stanford and deserves to go to Samford

There is ALWAYS hope. You got a JS1!!!thepowerofflight wrote:New here, so please alert me if I break any unspoken etiquette, and apologies if I miss something previously mentioned!
I also unsubscribed from all the spam emails after my first acceptances... JS1 in December and LOCI in January, but radio silence since then. There's still hope...right? Right? When do people think the next acceptance wave will be? And when do WLs come out?
We don't have a good idea about timing. It's all voodoo. WLs come all at once towards the end of this month, based on previous years. I have a feeling they'll complete another round of JS1s (the actual interviews) before doing more JS2s, but I'm a lowly waiter and have no actual insight.

Thanks tflan
Fingers crossed!
Also, this might be a silly question, but is it considered a good idea to write a LOCI after a JS1? I know some law schools like the show of interest, but I can see where it also could be annoying, adding to all the materials they already have...

I wouldn't send a LOCI unless you get waitlisted. Just show interest in Harvard during your interview. Increasingly, it seems like they're not flat out asking people why they want to go to Harvard so it's on you to tie what they do ask back to Harvard. The benefit of that is if you do it enough and with good enough reasons, you'll convey a strong interest in H which your interviewer should note.hopefulmarie93 wrote:Thanks tflan :) Fingers crossed!

If you are one of those people who just can't stand the idea of not writing a thank you email after a Skype interview, sure, go ahead and let that be your contact in between JS1 and decision. An LOCI while you are waiting on a post-interview decision would smack of bad judgment and a little bit of crazy IMO.
