DLS sometime in the past 3 hours. The office is closed now though, so I have a long sleepless night followed by a longer disappointing morning ahead of me.

Ugh, why can't they just do one big batch like now? Sorry, I'm whining a lot. I just want this goddamn cycle to be over.

Wow. So many DLS today. Sorry guys but at least it means the agony of the wait is over!
For posterity's sake, my DLS last night was a WL. It took me quite a few tries before I was able to reach them but the SLS admissions people were incredibly nice on the phone.

Why doesn't the status checker just change to either wait list or rejection? Everything about this process is stupid

Can someone confirm or deny the theory that they are done with decisions and are just DLSing alphabetically by last name? Just waiting for the sword to drop…

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
I was talking with some people about this last night... Its impressive how Yale and (to a lesser degree) Harvard know that people will probably attend no matter what, but don't really take advantage of that fact at applicants expense. They're transparent and open about their process and give you an initial decision within a few months.
Stanford (and Columbia) really do seem to take advantage of the fact that applicants will likely attend if they get in, even if it's 7 or more months later and necessarily makes things more stressful. Meh. Waiting 7+ months on any application without a peep or acknowledgment at all (except for like US Gov top secret clearance) is really weird and off-putting.
