They've had our applications for quite some time now (in some cases, 6 months), and know our qualifications. It's two weeks away from deposit deadlines, they should also have a perfectly clear view of what the applicant pool/their class looks like.

Is this simply because they send out rejections in waves? Even then, it seems like they should know who they are going to reject by now--making the wave any later in the cycle is a bit unnecessary.

Also, does anyone see a pattern/logic to the acceptances/decisions so far? It seems a bit random from a numbers perspective.

Edit--My take: Actually, I do see some sort of pattern: high GPAs. Perhaps they have already shored up their LSAT median and are now trying to work on the GPA? Also, they could be waiting for some sort of big movement on Harvard's part--maybe they think/know this is going to have a big impact on their matriculation rates.
there probably won't be many straight rejections from here on. I'm guessing worst case scenario is reserve for most, if not all, of the silence group

Can anyone tell me anything about the fates of deferred ED'ers? I've had total silence since my deferral. Have others heard back, or are all ED applicants in the same boat as me?

All quiet here. My money is on a string of WLs this week. At some point I did a LSN search and that seemed to be the pattern for the last couple of years.

Deferred EDer here. Got a LOCI request a week ago and will def. go if they take me. Although I must admit that I'm not really sure what more I could do to convince them I'll go considering I EDed.

Also, I think EDers may hear back this week.

Also a held ED'er and also received the LOCI request. I'm really hoping KevinP is right about this week!

Having been in this position before, I decided to go back and see when I was held last year and it was April 14th. I had submitted in November and went radio silent until April. So since I find myself in the same position again, I am going with a waitlist at this point.

Many of the people with grade requests and/or "resume clarifications" have gotten in. It may, in fact, just be a pretense under which to contact you to judge your level of commitment to the school.

no offense to you but if you get in with a 163/3.4 I'm gonna feel really awful for those still waiting like WhiteGuy5 etc.

Anyone know what WhiteGuy's status is? Was he held, radio silence, or did he get a LOCI email?

So given that ED Deferred was previously considered a dead end, what do you guys think this means for us RD holds, and potentially the reserve list?
