No reason whatsoever to lose hope. Plenty of people from very early in the cycle get admitted in very late waves, so people from quite late in the cycle definitely aren't guaranteed a sub-thirty-day turnaround--in fact, it would be somewhat unusual. You were more likely to be in a later wave than in the 2/22 one from the start. Everything's going fine for you, there's nothing to do but wait.
Super helpful response - thanks! I knew that in the back of my head I think but its hard not to get a little worried.

What is a countercycle?
It's like a bicycle but you pedal backwards

Seconded. The average wait time last year between JS1 and JS2 was 7 weeks. Only 1 person on this forum I think heard back on the 2/22 wave from a late Jan JS1.

I think a few people heard back, actually, from what I saw on the spreadsheet. The shortest turnaround was 17 days, and there were several 19's and 20's.
But you're basically right, I'm just nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking. Anything to inch the thread a little further towards 180.

Same here! Is it too much to hope that we will hear back in the next wave? I was told I would hear back by April 1st by my interviewer.

If you have questions re: updating / correcting part of your application, is it generally considered annoying to call? I feel like it's a bit tricky to put in an email but I don't want to piss anyone off

First time posting in this thread. Didn't want to jinx myself but had my JS1 at the beginning of this month. Harvard was always a reach for me but now I find myself hoping for a Harvard acceptance more and more every day. Hoping we hear back soon!!

If it is a substantive update, e.g., award, publication, etc., I think that's fine to email. However, for minor updates/corrections, unless there's a factual inaccuracy, it's often best to just let it ride. Not sure I would call either way.

Y'all're probably in the last wave. Almost certainly, I'd say, since one early-March JS1 actually got told by his interviewer that he wouldn't hear back much before April 1.

Same here. JS1 on 2/28 and my interviewer told me I'd hear back before April 1, but probably not much before.

Double contraction FTW.
I know a lot of Jan/Feb JS1s are still waiting too. Did any of the Jan/Feb folks get a timeline from their interviewer? I didn't think to ask mine...

I didn't ask, but I was told it would be a few weeks and that it's a slow process. My interview was towards the end of January. I'm definitely a little nervous, but I'm still hopeful

Asked in the interview, was told by the end of March so not really helpful

*raises hand* submitted 1/9, went complete 2/14. I have a theory, though, that they look at apps in the order that they were submitted, not went complete, since I had a particularly short JS1 turnaround. So, simply because I likely submitted earlier than others who went complete in mid-February, my app went to the top of the stack.

I think that's what my interviewer said too (mid-January JS1). I know I asked but I don't remember the answer

Early March JS1. My interviewer told me I could hear back "as early as next week but definitely by April 1st."

Seems as though they're really not going to show their hand much on the timeline. Oh well.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
