Give TLS the parameters!
I should crowd-plan my honeymoon here. A bunch of type-A people could knock this out in a day!

Budget - $5,000
Length - 2 weeks
When - Late June

I would rather not do Europe, we have both been there a fair amount. Her requirement is warm weather and atleast part of the time in a beachy resort. I want to spend a bit of time exploring and seeing some culture.

Sounds like you want Uruguay
South America is actually one of the only places I have not been. One of my ideas was a stop in Central America for a beach resort before going down to a place like Buenos Aires for a bit more adventure.

Never been, but Costa Rica may fit the bill too. Heard great things.

I was just in BA. It's nice, but the food service is atrocious and it's more expensive than it once was since they've started floating the currency. If you stay in Recolletta or Palermo you'll have a nice time, but there aren't any good beaches in the immediate proximity. Good beef though.
Thanks for the tip! I take it you liked Montevideo more? Only issue is it is a bit cold there during June. Maybe I should try for Upper SA, a Columbia?

I just had some friends who are huge history buffs decide against the "let's go somewhere warm with beaches" route, and did a tour of castles and distilleries in Europe. If that's something you might be into, they had a blast (and no one came back sun burnt)

Columbia with the reminder of their application deadline. Apparently their ding pile isn't big enough...

About the honeymoon thing: I wish I had $5000  #broke

Definitely will fit the bill. We honeymooned in Costa Rica, backpacked and took busses everywhere, so it was significantly cheaper than your budget. And the Pacific beaches are beautiful. And volcanoes, rain forests. And loads of culture, provided you venture from the touristy areas.

Amalfi Coast in Italy man. Beautiful towns nestled in the mountains along the peninsula. Praiano, Positano, Amalfi, Maiori, Minori, Salerno and more. All very cool to explore and they have sandy beaches you can enjoy. I fell in love with the place while I was there and it hurt to leave. It was breathtaking.

Also to nitpick, fiance referring to a woman has two 'e's.

I just got back from SE Asia, on a considerably cheaper budget, and you can absolutely do both there. Phuket has tons of beaches (wasn't a huge fan of the one I was on, but that's a different story), and it was a short flight to all sorts of different areas for exploring/culture. Highly recommend in general.

Also going to suggest Costa Rica, but my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt because I have family there and therefore haven't had a touristy experience. But it's cheap and gorgeous and the people are nice.

How cold does AU/NZ get in their winter? Would a June trip fit jj's requirements? Goes similarly for deep SA though I haven't hear many of those countries thrown around

I definitely thought about SE Asia. The humidity, rain, and heat there during June turned me off of it. I was told by some people that it is a great trip, just not during summer.

Those people would be correct. I think we all keep forgetting "late June." We're all going to be fantastic lawyers!
It's all about team work, we need just as many creative lawyers coming up with ideas as we do boring assholes caught up in the minutiae

Port Douglas in Australia for the beach, then Sydney for culture plus some of their outdoor excursions for adventure.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
