This doesn't directly answer your question, but it does gives insight into the faculty review:
http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/admissions ... s-process/
Only students who get interviews go through faculty review, but it doesn't explicitly say everyone who interviews goes through faculty review. Sorry, I guess that's not much help lol.
Thanks! - Can't blame Harvard for not giving away too much of the admission strategy
Well, it does say "No offer of admission is ever made to HLS without a faculty member signing off."
So I think everyone's app is read by a faculty member prior to admission.
ETA: Realized you were likely asking whether every JS1 gets passed on, not whether every admitted applicant has undergone review by a faculty member. My bad!

I am sorry to blow my own horn, but if we assume that the process described in the link above is true, at which point would those of us passed over for interviews get stuck? Adcom --> JS?

Points of Clarification:
We know:
1) If you're admitted, you passed Faculty review. (Admitted > Faculty Review), and contrapositive (-Faculty Review > -Admitted). [Sweet Christ I miss logic games.] This is from the admissions blog, which Pylon linked.
We don't know:
2) DiniMae's Question - Are Faculty Reviews done by (a) individual faculty members or (b) a board of faculty members? If (a), say Faculty Member 1 says no, does it go to Faculty Member 2 or are you dinged? If it goes to Faculty Member 2, and they say no, does it go to Faculty Member 3, and so on? After how many Faculty Members does that process stop? And if (b - review by board), how many make up that board and how do they make their determination (simple majority, weighted preferences and pick people's top three, etc.)?
3) MajinBuu's Question - Do all JS1s go to faculty review? Is there a step post-interview where someone can say no. Or do they write notes on your interview and send it to the faculty members/board?

You're absolutely right. Based off of that admissions blog entry there's no way to tell. I was just hoping that someone with a JS1 would have been told something by their interviewer that might give us a bit more insight.

I wish I would've asked when my interviewer was going over the process. O well

This probably doesn't help you all, but my interviewer told me that it was very early in the process and that my app (along with everyone else's??) still had to go under committee review. She also said the committee doesn't meet often. Maybe this implies that everyone gets reviewed after JS1? idk

Mine also mentioned it being early in the process.

Theory: HLS is sitting on acceptances, and once this thread hits 180 pages (and no sooner) JS will make her calls in honor of our collective perfect score.

Sadly I'm beginning to think we will only have one more. Any day after this Saturday seems logical, then its ding city and wait list town for everyone else.

Indy and 90convoy, did both of you have recent interviews?
It's so strange that they mentioned it was early in the process... The cycle is more than half over, isn't it?
ETA: Woops I misunderstood

It's so outrageous it might be true. We've got work to do.

Yes it was recent; she meant early in my individual process though. Sorry that was unclear.

Yes it was recent; she meant early in my individual process though. Sorry that was unclear.
Oh I see! That makes more sense, but also surprises me a bit. I just assumed the interview was the biggest hurdle. I guess the faculty review takes long/has more importance than I thought.

I dunno if I'd read too much into it. It seemed like she was reading off a script basically, and it felt like it was designed to prevent panicking if I didn't hear back super soon. That kinda thing.
