Has anyone else used Spivey Consulting service ($2,500) and seen no result?
I have no C&F issues and I have substantial softs (5years + of work experience).
I'm beginning to wonder what I paid such money for...
I have what is probably a dumb question. What is a law school consultant? Do they help you write your application and/or essays? I saw you posted something similar in the Yale thread and I was curious.

So, radio silence from Cambridge since September 23, 2015. Should I write a LOCI? I know Stanford low-key encourages their applicants who’ve been waiting for a long time to write a LOCI, so maybe Harvard too? Got dinged by Yale today—getting kind of jittery here.

Also wondering this, although it seems like people advised to hold off until a waitlist/that it won't really help earlier ITT. I just received a final grade in a half-semester class that bumped my GPA up a bit, but I don't foresee LSAC being able to receive and process an updated transcript fast enough to make an impact in the decision process.downtownboy wrote:So, radio silence from Cambridge since September 23, 2015. My thoughts are that people like us who have been waiting a long time with no word are very likely to go on the waitlist. Why else wait this long with no interview and then let us survive the recent rejection wave?downtownboy wrote:So, radio silence from Cambridge since September 23, 2015. Should I write a LOCI? Haven’t they sent out JS1 in march to people waiting since September in past? I thought they did a final review before placing people in waitlist?theconsigliere wrote:My thoughts are that people like us who have been waiting a long time with no word are very likely to go on the waitlist. I think consulting services are cool, but not as effective as they advertise to be. Also, most of the “inside” info they claim to have about law school admissions can be found for free in the depths of world wide web. I personally benefited more from “Ask Asha” blog than from my consulting service… however, neither got me into Yale. Still kinda salty about that!Nolachicken wrote:MagnumLifeStyle wrote:GPA and LSAT above medians, but still no response...

JS refers to Jessica Soban, Assistant Dean and Chief Admissions Officer at HLS.16to19 wrote:Dumb questions from someone who hasn't been following since they just assumed they'd get rejected but hasn't heard anything yet. Can someone breakdown all of this JS1/2 jargon for me?
Again, I've been assuming rejection but my application has been in for 9 weeks and i've seen a few waves of rejections, any thoughts?
JS1 = interview invitation (interview is necessary but not sufficient for acceptance). You've been invited onto the dance floor.
JS2 = Emerald City/Promised Land/Acceptance.
Can't offer much in terms of your chances at this point, other than that remaining alive is good. As each wave passes you by your chances of admission decrease, but you still have hope.

Was admitted by Yale, but November complete date and still no JS1 from Harvard. Nothing makes sense.

I love ALL movement. While obviously JS1/2 referred, I am okay with any sort of closure I get. Even(especially) if that closure is a JS1.*
Real talk, though, are there even JS1 slots left?
ETA: *(because JS1s don't exactly bring closure)

Where is the timeline from last year? Not seeing the waves tracked on the c/o 2018 front page, and that is the end of my detective abilities (bodes well for law I know.)coldmonkey13 wrote:THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE. In all seriousness I'd be shocked if we saw nothing given how many rejections and JS2s went out last week. Seems to me they'll do another round of review before final dings and WLs go out in about two weeks (assuming they follow a similar timeline to the past).buffy123 wrote:any hope for any kind of activity this week?

I just received an email for a JS1 via Skype, so perhaps more are going out today?
