The FR might like your PS though. Isn't that what FR is all about?
This is all speculation but I feel like FR looks for interesting people whereas the adcomms probably care more about fit. I feel like I have some unique experiences (not sure how unique) but that I'm otherwise uninteresting. I thought my de facto ED and emphasis on fit was the strongest part of my PS.

Plus, haven't a lot of the FR admits had high GPAs?

Maybe they will take pity on how much you want Berkeley.

Academics' hatred for Wikipedia makes me nervous about FR. My PS is about my work as an administrator there. I mean, I emphasized my work in the internal legal policy side of Wikipedia, not the public face, but I can imagine a professor seeing the word "Wikipedia" and...reacting poorly. Hopefully not; I do like Berkeley very much.

I know, right? Huge surprise. I'm absolutely *shocked*. I was shocked to go to FR, actually. Never thought in a million years I would have Boalt as a real option. It was a Hail Mary + lateral pass...

edit: Thanks for the good wishes Calgal - I'm rooting for you, too!

In Berkeley speak, it was "The Play"

Thanks for the well wishes from you as well. Berk is out of my future, but I'm still waiting on MANY others at this point. *still crossing fingers after so many months - getting arthritis*

+1 to all of those who are still UR since 11/18 and have heard NOTHING from Berkeley today! What does this mean!? I'm in agony.

Meh. Everyone not FR at this point is probably rejected. There were no non-FR acceptances reported on LSN after the first FR ended last year. So FR is better than no FR no matter what.
