What interview dates do we anticipate the next wave of JS2's coming from? Early Feb?

From LSN it seems that if you aren't in the next wave you are def wait list or ding. But it's a slow cycle so who even knows

i don't think that's definite, iirc there were a good many stragglers in the last wave of acceptances last year.mpc347 wrote:I think the stragglers before that are definitely WL at this point.mwonka wrote:late jan-early feb, i think.
and hopefully stragglers from before that.
but there haven't been any acceptances for folks who interviewed later than 1/16, so i suspect that the bulk of the next wave will come from folks who interviewed between 1/16 and late february.

it's possible we still get acceptances today, but if we don't, i'm completely perplexed. it will have been over a month! isn't feb/march supposed to be the busiest time for schools? the time when they shore up their medians and a majority of their class? what is happening?qwertyTLS wrote:reposting because hopefully it will come in handy today:

So if I haven't been asked to interview (submitted early November) does that mean a rejection/WL is definitely coming?

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Just spitballing here, but I bet they're putting the finishing touches on a huge list of acceptances that are gonna get out by the end of this week, next Monday at the absolute latest. This hypothetical list pretty much guarantees their medians, which is why they're taking so long to nail it down.qwertyTLS wrote:it's possible we still get acceptances today, but if we don't, i'm completely perplexed. it will have been over a month! isn't feb/march supposed to be the busiest time for schools? the time when they shore up their medians and a majority of their class? what is happening?qwertyTLS wrote:reposting because hopefully it will come in handy today:

First group of girls, second group to follow.
One, two, three, four, five, six...
AL

How could I do a thing like that? How could I do a thing like ...?
Now, I'll never make it

All right, let me see the boys.
The whole group. Ready, A-five, six, seven, eight!

PAUL
Who am I anyway? Am I my resume?
That is a picture of a person I don't know.

I am a K-JD, do you think that makes it more or less likely that I still have a chance?

All things equal, I'd say less of a chance just because the percent of kjds that are admitted is lower than that of people with WE. But all things are never equal, and only you and the adcomms know what your app is like. Basically, no one can tell you anything substantive, so unless you're dinged there's no reason not to keep up hope. My 2 cents anyways.smipt wrote:qwertyTLS wrote:are you a kjd? i would keep hope - they haven't rejected you yet, and have had the opportunity to do so, so that's somethingsmipt wrote:So if I haven't been asked to interview (submitted early November) does that mean a rejection/WL is definitely coming?

It perhaps explains why you were passed over in the initial "auto-admit" sweep.smipt wrote:qwertyTLS wrote:are you a kjd? i would keep hope - they haven't rejected you yet, and have had the opportunity to do so, so that's somethingsmipt wrote:So if I haven't been asked to interview (submitted early November) does that mean a rejection/WL is definitely coming?

sry, not sure if kjd makes it more or less likely at this point in the cycle. your numbers are pretty good so it was just a guess as to why you may have been passed over so far. gluck!whosinthehousejc wrote:It perhaps explains why you were passed over in the initial "auto-admit" sweep.smipt wrote:I am a K-JD, do you think that makes it more or less likely that I still have a chance?qwertyTLS wrote:are you a kjd? i would keep hope - they haven't rejected you yet, and have had the opportunity to do so, so that's somethingsmipt wrote:So if I haven't been asked to interview (submitted early November) does that mean a rejection/WL is definitely coming?

So are they part of the snow crew tomorrow? Shutdown likelihood? Anyone know? Hoping they'll be open giving JS2s while I'm home and able to take their call.

Boston forecast right now is for pretty light snow. After the winter we've had it will take at least half a foot to contemplate shutting anything down.DiniMae wrote:So are they part of the snow crew tomorrow? Shutdown likelihood? Anyone know?
