Have $90k from Northwestern and $54 from Michigan to work with. Not sure if that is enough to be persuasive given their lower ratings.
Columbia tends to be stingy, so don't expect anything, but it won't hurt to try.

Out of curiosity, did you by any chance get a request from Columbia for a LOCI?

Yea, I did get a request for a LOCI, but I had already submitted one. Sent it to them unsolicited a week or two after I was put on hold in late February.

But then why are some of us in that 175+ group still sitting here with our dance-cards nearly empty? I mean, I realize I'm a terrible dancer and all, but I don't think I mentioned that in my loci.

Argh, come on CLS...any time you want to let me know my status would be fine.
IDK dude. I think there will be quite a bit of WL movement, though

Is anybody who was just accepted planning on visiting the school from somewhere farther than the Northeast? I am from the west coast and am trying to figure out whether I should work out a visit.

Is there a correlation between request for LOCI and admission?

i.e. do we have an someone who is admitted without the recent request for LOCI?

Mr. Somebody wrote: Well I just stalked your posts and you're an international which can be unprdictable even with a 179

I on the other hand, just suck. There's no other explanation
Well, I'm not actually an international, I'm a Yank. I did my undergrad overseas (good choice at the time, and wouldn't change but it's making this a bit of a process), but I'm doing grad school in the states currently.

And it's not that you suck, Somebody. I'm sure there are plenty of other explanations. They could have lost your app, or one of your rec. letter writers got you confused with someone else and wrote a terrible letter or...hmm, those aren't much better. Perhaps I shouldn't go into a career in counseling.

Welp, five months after applying I've finally heard back... That they want to see my fall grades lol. At least I know they didn't lose my application.

Anecdotal, but this was a good sign for me. Accepted 2 days after they received them, even though my GPA dropped.

Thanks, that makes me feel better because my GPA dropped slightly as well. I had been hoping I could slide by without them asking, but I'm not that concerned about it anyways. It's not like they were ever going to take me for my GPA.

Muddup and JamMasterJ,

I got a LOCI request about a week ago, but had already submitted one, so I simply resent my old one with a copy of my most recent transcript.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
