Unfortunately, my whole family has been out of town for a week, so I'll have to wait until tonight when they get back and can check the mail. It's making me nuts.Knock wrote:Lol yeah, you're in and likely with $ too. #'s?CapHillLove wrote:bdubs wrote:I think Columbia has an "official" replace your average with the highest if the gap is bigger than X. Re: Columbia 2011!
Perhaps you should have a separate set of columns for URMs?

4.3+ here... no news. High GPA, lower LSAT.

Re: Columbia 2011!
Dulc, looking at this spreadsheet, (did you sort it by yes/no? very helpful!) there is no way that there isn't a second wave coming (1/26 or not).
There are waaaaaaaaay too many great-numbered applicants who haven't gotten VCEs! Some of you are DEF getting in, there's no way Columbia is just cold ditching their ranking to let only people like me in.

This spreadsheet is fabulous but I'm totally going to have nightmares from looking at it. I have the lowest index! Congrats all on your great numbers, whether or not we're all excepted that is a seriously stellar spreadsheet right there.

A packet mailed from NYC postmarked 1/25, indicating that the mail is functioning and if he had a acceptance from CLS it should have arrived already.thecilent wrote:Wait, what?glitched wrote:well.. just got a packet from NYC postmarked 1/25 so i think that means im down and out. Re: Columbia 2011!
I think the point is that it wasn't from Columbia but WAS from NYC...taking into account the 1/24 date of VCE'sLinzerTorte wrote:But did he get a packet? Another thought- what if the spreadsheet had dates attached?

What about the other (post 1/25) waves? Also, mail from different sections of NYC could have different travel times.glitched wrote:well.. just got a packet from NYC postmarked 1/25 so i think that means im down and out. LOL but it's okay - still happy

Re: Columbia 2011!
Clearly what happened is that Columbia used index numbers to pick the bulk of their admits and put them in a pile. Then, they took apps with lower numbers and picked the best among them and put those on the pile. They mailed the top of the pile first, getting a few higher numbers as well.
Yep.
