Sorry if this has been answered, but is your index at a school your average lsat scores or the highest? Do they just use what's on the LSAC report?

I think Columbia has an "official" replace your average with the highest if the gap is bigger than X. I think X was 6 or 8 but I don't remember that well.

Dulc, looking at this spreadsheet, (did you sort it by yes/no? very helpful!) there is no way that there isn't a second wave coming (1/26 or not).

There are waaaaaaaaay too many great-numbered applicants who haven't gotten VCEs! Some of you are DEF getting in, there's no way Columbia is just cold ditching their ranking to let only people like me in.

I think the point is that it wasn't from Columbia but WAS from NYC...taking into account the 1/24 date of VCE's


Another thought- what if the spreadsheet had dates attached?

What about the other (post 1/25) waves? Also, mail from different sections of NYC could have different travel times.

Clearly what happened is that Columbia used index numbers to pick the bulk of their admits and put them in a pile. Then, they took apps with lower numbers and picked the best among them and put those on the pile. They mailed the top of the pile first, getting a few higher numbers as well.
