If we're looking at absolute numbers, the class size was smaller by like 50 people, so that'll have something to do with it.KMart wrote:My thoughts exactly. True, but it wasn't one of their top 3 markets. Alternatively, more people, in spite of lowering class sizes, went to MO, NYC, and, presumably, DC. I'm a fan of smaller class sizes, though. I like that they're keeping it ~250.scottidsntknow wrote:If we're looking at absolute numbers, the class size was smaller by like 50 people, so that'll have something to do with it.KMart wrote:My thoughts exactly. Got a modest (albeit smaller than I was looking for) increase, which is conditional upon me withdrawing from all other schools by April 15. Is this common at Wash U? Any advice on how to proceed if I'm just not sure if I can make that commitment without a higher scholarship amount?

Long time lurker/checking in.
I'm currently on the waitlist and was just curious if anyone knew how likely one is to get accepted off the waitlist
Thanks everyone

They gave me the same deadline but Ms. Scannell did mention she'd try to work with me if I needed more time so I'm sure the same would go for you. Just ask.6778628 wrote:Got a modest (albeit smaller than I was looking for) increase, which is conditional upon me withdrawing from all other schools by April 15. Is this common at Wash U? Yeah they are notorious the last couple years for using the "exploding offer", though typically later in the cycle, I think.6778628 wrote:Got a modest (albeit smaller than I was looking for) increase, which is conditional upon me withdrawing from all other schools by April 15. Just got a full scholarship offer from Illinois, would it be worth it to try to negotiate up to a full scholarship? I have a 120k offer at the moment. Not sure if I want to go to either schools. I'm not from the Midwest and I have not ties to the Midwest..but a full scholly from WUSTL would be tempting

It's worth a shot, the chorus of answers you're going to get is: it doesn't hurt to try.adil91 wrote:Just got a full scholarship offer from Illinois, would it be worth it to try to negotiate up to a full scholarship? Anyone have any info on good places to rent for someone with a dog? I'm looking for somewhere that would hopefully be relatively close to campus/places to hang out but it has to work with a (80 lb) dog.

This looks like it's from the ABA. Anyone know if other schools post this same thing? (In the same general format I mean. I'm interested in how many got jobs/didn't other places.) Does the ABA publish this for all schools, regardless of whether or not the school itself publishes on their website?JFO1833 wrote:Employment statistics are up (likely not for long, they appear to have been uploaded where the standard 509 report goes):

If you have a car, St.Louis Hills or Tower Grove South would be perfect. Lots of great parks and dogs. Or of course you could live in DogtownRancidSumo wrote:Anyone have any info on good places to rent for someone with a dog? Depends on the total COA at each school. If you post/pm that info, we can probably give you better guidance.buckiguy_sucks wrote:A scholarhsip 1/3 of the size from G/C/N is probably a nonstarter right?

Oh gotcha, I misunderstood. Yeah i doubt that WUSTL will negotiate with that offer, but it never hurts to ask. The worst thing that can happen is they say no. I agree that is too much money for GULC.buckiguy_sucks wrote:After schollie, then savings and family/SO help WUSTL is at 60k of debt and GULC is at 190k of debt.LET'S GET IT wrote:Depends on the total COA at each school. But i specifically meant for negotiations not for trying to get guidance of which school to go to. Would be happy to talk about that too though. Very much want to be in DC but 200k of debt is a very stressful number to think about. If I went to WUSTL i'd probably shoot for big/mid law in Ohio

^^ LGI I stopped watching the Lakers game after the second quarter. They were only losing by five though.

I'm from DC and don't know of a lot of people going there. My mentor landed DC biglaw, but with stellar grades, good work experience, and amazing social/interview skills.buckiguy_sucks wrote:I'm a pretty big lay-preftige whore though so I have yet to officially decline or anything, also still working on GULC for more scholarship. Most of the class at GULC cannot get DC biglaw...buckiguy_sucks wrote:Because they aren't trying or they can't get it?scottidsntknow wrote:I'm from DC and don't know of a lot of people going there.
