I know they go out pretty randomly, but FWIW I submitted 12/5 and went complete 12/10
I hope to hear about more JS1s today!

I am asking this because I am really not sure what common wisdom about it is.
So, retakes wouldn't matter as long as the highest scores is really high? (i.e. above median or at 75 ish.?)

common wisdom is that retakes do not matter except maybe for S and Yhwannabe1234 wrote:I am asking this because I am really not sure what common wisdom about it is.

avg between submit and complete is 11.4. i wouldn't worry, especially since some probably didn't get back to work until the 2nd.bee wrote:should i be worried that my application was received on 12/30 and i still havent gone complete?nabadgelyo wrote:FWIW I submitted 12/5 and went complete 12/10![]()

I wouldn't read into available slots too much. When I scheduled my JS1, there were several days in January that were available. That most of the days are now blocked up is due to interviews I think.lawschool22 wrote:What were the last slots you could sign up in?nabadgelyo wrote:Got a JS1 email just now. There is a table showing how different schools consider it. According to that most schools take highest; Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Berkeley, and GULC take averages; Yale is "holistic"; and Stanford gave no response.
Y and S are kind of black boxes, the rumor goes, and look at the narrative and totality of your app.
All that being said, the schools see all your scores, so if you know you'll rock a retake I doubt it would hurt you anywhere. I mean, what would Yale say? "We were going to take this guy with a 170 but then he retook and got a 177 so he obviously has no place here"?

Most of the anecdotal evidence suggests that most of those schools do not in fact average.IrishJew wrote:See here:milkandcheerios wrote:common wisdom is that retakes do not matter except maybe for S and Yhwannabe1234 wrote:I am asking this because I am really not sure what common wisdom about it is.

Good to know! I certainly have no magic window into admissions except TLS!lawschool22 wrote:Most of the anecdotal evidence suggests that most of those schools do not in fact average.IrishJew wrote:See here:milkandcheerios wrote:common wisdom is that retakes do not matter except maybe for S and Yhwannabe1234 wrote:I am asking this because I am really not sure what common wisdom about it is.

I also just got a JS1 - submitted 12/1, complete a week-ish later.
176, 3.7x
the only dates were Jan 21-23, with a handful of slots each day.
good luck everyone!

I still think we will see some acceptances today.

I agree. I'd be pretty surprised if we didn't see some movement.edwardt1988 wrote:I still think we will see some acceptances today.

Hmm, it's already 1:30. I'm not sure how much we should be expecting today, but certainly a wave should be coming soon if prior years are any guide. It does feel like they are "behind" relative to prior years in terms of acceptances, but that could just be an illusion.lawschool22 wrote:I agree. i agree with the sentiment that things have been pushed back somewhat
i think the 2 snow days in early Jan do push things to ¿next week?

Interesting. That could very well be true. But usually calls started around 3PM this cycle, didn't they?IrishJew wrote:Hmm, it's already 1:30. ^I was one of the first to report my JS2 on a day that calls went out. JS called me just before 3pm EST so there still might be some activity today.edwardt1988 wrote:Interesting.
