Sending puppies and roses to all those still waiting on fin aid packages. Judging from the grovel-y automated email response I received when I sent in my parents' tax returns last week, it sounds like they're well aware of everyone's frustration. Hopefully that will translate into more money for you all!

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
yeah, they said theyre doing it in the order received, but as long as you sent in your stuff in a timely basis (not sure what the cutoff for that is exactly) then you will receive a deposit deadline with your financial aid package, and don't have to worry about May 1st. Possible good news: them reviewing my financial aid app after May 1st may mean more scholly money freed up for me?aiaea wrote:Hey, Did you get an answer?

To everyone waiting on financial aid and trying to get a sense of timing, I submitted my info around the second week of April and heard on Friday. Good luck!

Thanks for the timeframe.bob loblaw11 wrote:To everyone waiting on financial aid and trying to get a sense of timing, I submitted my info around the second week of April and heard on Friday. Good luck!
Did anyone receive a confirmation email that their FA application's complete? I vaguely remember hearing that the FA office does that, but I'm not totally sure.

Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Generally speaking, they've only reached out to people if they were missing something or had a question. I never received a confirmation that my application was complete and I think that's been the norm.smdpnp wrote:Thanks for the timeframe.bob loblaw11 wrote:To everyone waiting on financial aid and trying to get a sense of timing, I submitted my info around the second week of April and heard on Friday. Am I the only person who went to CU for UG and is really worried about my uni? I don't want a new uni. I love my uni, I use it for everything.

I've heard that as long as you're in one of the unfurnished apartments, they don't care if you bring your unicycle to school.helix23 wrote:your unicycle?

Sorry I was just going to ETA that your uni is your CU ID. Its your first initial (occasionally middle) then last initial followed by four numbers. I assume the law school uses them because all the grad schools dohelix23 wrote:wutfrancesfarmer wrote:Am I the only person who went to CU for UG and is really worried about my uni? From the c/o 2015 thread, it looks like the law school also uses a firstname.lastname alias address that goes to the same inbox, but looks a little nicer. No idea about your UG one, though.francesfarmer wrote:Sorry I was just going to ETA that your uni is your CU ID. My UG email has been dead and gone forever. What do you mean the alias goes to the same inbox? I'm confused.ph5354a wrote:From the c/o 2015 thread, it looks like the law school also uses a firstname.lastname alias address that goes to the same inbox, but looks a little nicer. I'll bet they let you use the same one.francesfarmer wrote:Sorry I was just going to ETA that your uni is your CU ID. Re: Columbia c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Like for some email accounts, you can use a different email address that would go to the same inbox. So like on your resume, you can have it appear as "firstname.lastname@law.columbia.edu" or whatever it is, but it would still go to your uni email address inbox, then when you reply, you can choose which address it will appear as. Basically, it's the same email account, but you have the option to use two different email addresses depending on your preference. My UG did the same thing. It just looks a little nicer so you don't have to go around putting "xyz1245@columbia.edu" on resumes and things.francesfarmer wrote:My UG email has been dead and gone forever. I hope so. I can't imagine the psychological and emotional strain it would take to train myself to identify with four completely different numbers. The horror.helix23 wrote:I'll bet they let you use the same one.francesfarmer wrote:Sorry I was just going to ETA that your uni is your CU ID. Thanks, good to know! That law.columbia.edu email address will definitely look nicer.ph5354a wrote:Like for some email accounts, you can use a different email address that would go to the same inbox.
