Thanks guys. Well, it is true, I definitely would. Will be sending that LOCI today.BlueDiamond wrote:I'd write this in there even if it isnt true.. law schools lie to us all the time.. even Cornell staff who have told everyone still waiting on decisions in this thread that theyd have decisions already and they still dontDHB wrote:cinephile wrote:Even though the chances of getting in off reserve are probably slight for me, I'm going to send a LOCI and hope for the best. Cornell was my top choice and I suppose I should be pleased that I wasn't outright rejected.
If it is your top choice, I would definitely include a statement like, "If admitted, I WILL matriculate and withdraw any other commitments."

Doesn't look like there was any movement yesterday or much today. No news is good news I suppose. Good luck to you guys on reserve. And everyone else waiting. If I got in on cinco de mayo that would be awesome. Here's hoping...

Just got my second . . . 4/27-5/3
I have gotten the impression that more review dates is better, like they may cut you after just one, but if you go through all three you have a shot. . . is that accurate based on others experiences?

torque-anecdotally, I've observed the same thing. However, that may just be wishful thinking on my part. In any case, most people who say they've been admitted seem to have an average of 3 dates. Although I don't think most people get notified on the same day as a review date. I have no idea though.

You say "all three" as if you know something I don't know. Lol. But yeah, it seems like that's been the trendjdtorque wrote:Just got my second . . . 4/27-5/3

Purely anecdotal, but I have similar stats and was put on reserve after the first date. So, I'd say more dates are better.jdtorque wrote:Just got my second . . . 4/27-5/3

Good luck, this is a long, brutal cycle, and reserve is no picnic.aaaaaah wrote:Purely anecdotal, but I have similar stats and was put on reserve after the first date. So, I'd say more dates are better.jdtorque wrote:Just got my second . . . 4/27-5/3

Not sure, I'm trying to stay optimistic. I think it is correct to say that more review dates are better, insofar as if you get a second review date as opposed to a rejection after your first, it's better. You know, in the way that no news is good news and all that. I truly do not know though. This cycle has surprised me multiple times.

I didn't realize that most people on the 25th% lsat end are urms, to put it bluntly. After submitting my app, and looking through lawschoolnumbers, I realized that I wasted 92 bucks (or 300, if you count several other schools). At this point, I am just waiting for a rejection so I could put this horrible cycle behind me. It's been four months. I want closure!jdtorque wrote:Just got my second . . . 4/27-5/3

I got rejected from Fordham too. Not gonna lie, that one stung. . .

what is their deal? They are taking 169s (no offense to those who got in) and reserving my 170 and rejecting your 171? is this some kind of whacky YP thing going on?protein wrote:forgot to update this

Are you mad? Sounds like YP unless your gpa is below median.FlanAl wrote:what is their deal? They are taking 169s (no offense to those who got in) and reserving my 170 and rejecting your 171? is this some kind of whacky YP thing going on?protein wrote:forgot to update this

Not meaning to be rude, but considering the best school you've gotten into is what, Georgetown? I think that it's pretty ridiculous to say you've been YP'd by Cornell.FlanAl wrote:what is their deal? Edit: Not saying Georgetown is bad, just that it's hard to buy a claim of YP without someone being a strong candidate at significantly better schools than the one that WL or rejects him.

@Bils, he got into NU which is a Cornell peer. I agree though that it's not fair to spout YP without having much better acceptances although I do sympathize if he had a GPA above median because being above both medians and not getting in kind of sucks.

Well, I got waitlisted at Harvard, Columbia and NYU and REJECTED by Cornell. That makes NO sense to me, so maybe Cornell is YP'ing.Bildungsroman wrote:Not meaning to be rude, but considering the best school you've gotten into is what, Georgetown? You have a like a 162 LSAT. You aren't getting YPed by anyone in the top 14.masterthearts wrote:Well, I got waitlisted at Harvard, Columbia and NYU and REJECTED by Cornell. Actually, it was higher than 162. I said I would reveal the true numbers after the cycle is over, and it's not over yet.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
My guess is that either they did not like the rest of your app, it was YP, or it wasn't YP and they liked you, but they have simply admitted too many students earlier in the cycle so that they are left with very few spots (though, they probably would have waitlisted you if the latter were true). I have a 171 and am ABOVE their 75th percentile for GPA -----> waitlisted. I'm thinking that the latter was the case for me at many T14s considering that I'm heading to a T6 and am waitlisted at Harvard.FlanAl wrote:what is their deal? Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
So have you actually gotten into any schools that are better than Cornell? A rejection when high-ranked schools have WL'd you is laughable as evidence that a school is YPing. I think it has more to do with this line from your profile: "Under the 25th percentile lsat for a T14 school"masterthearts wrote:Well, I got waitlisted at Harvard, Columbia and NYU and REJECTED by Cornell.
