Re: U Chicago 2010
I get the feeling they're pretty overwhelmed with apps. I'm above both medians (172/3.8, which actually puts me above the 75th percentile for GPA) and haven't even gone UR. I'm not taking anything as a sign either way until I hear news from them or can make an inference based on something more concrete than the date changes on my status checker.

Er, I wasn't trying to be an alarmist. I just saw a bunch of people getting their dates updated, and I assumed that mine being at the same date for a while wasn't a positive thing. Sorry.DanInALionsDen wrote:itsirtou wrote:Still stuck at 3/26...I'm guessing that isn't a good sign.
I don't get why people keep writing stuff like this. It's not a sign at all. Essentially everyone who applied around mid to late jan with ~median numbers is still waiting to hear back. Stop being an alarmist.

If it helps, I'm still UR 3/26 also.

Re: U Chicago 2010
I just read the thread about contacting a school you have not heard from yet (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=114769) and am tempted to do this with Chicago.
Apart from UCLA, Chicago is the last school I need to hear from and is my #1 choice. Before I did this I wanted to get some feedback from people familiar with Chicago specifically. Is there any reason that a very politely worded email would hurt my chances?
I am not interested in making them feel rushed... more than anything I just want to reach out to them and let them know I would unhesitatingly attend if admitted before I get WL'ed or worse.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Have any other waitlisters out there submitted their LOCI to essay@law.uchicago.edu? I sent mine last week and never received a confirmation, does anyone else have any experience with this?

Still not even UR yet. I'm Application Complete 3/18. Submitted in early January. Starting to get very antsy because I live in Chicago but want to know if I need to renew my lease, etc.

I sent an essay in before the March 1 deadline, and received confirmation that it had been "added to my file." I sent a brief LOCI in Monday after I visited the school last week, and have not received any notification.gerghk wrote:Have any other waitlisters out there submitted their LOCI to essay@law.uchicago.edu? You think sending the LOCI after the deadline comes across okay (i.e. "this kid can't even write the essay in time. Next")? I missed the deadline myself and have basically considered myself SOL from that point.gerghk wrote:ah okay, i'm guessing they're just completely swamped right nowjsarna1 wrote:I sent an essay in before the March 1 deadline, and received confirmation that it had been "added to my file." Hmm, I wonder if that's better than just sending one and hoping for the best.IAFG wrote:1) call and ask to speak to admissions officerLieutKaffee wrote:

Kaffee... I'd just call and see what they say. Or go to Northwestern and never look back lol.

Also, I just noticed that the original password they sent me for my status checker was PUKEB1F. I hope that didn't signify their gut reaction to my application.

There won't be decisions today unless some UR dates update. Mine hasn't (yet).

Am I the only 4/2->4/14er on here? Still no change today. I think we're gonna have to wait another week.

My first under review date was 4/12, does that mean I have to wait for 2 more updates before a decision is made?

Nope, I also went UR on 4/2 and again on 4/14... I don't really know what that means, but it seems like all the median people are still being reviewed. I'm 165/3.89...so I doubt I have any chance at all unless they need a gpa boost.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
