Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Question for those already admitted:
How long did it take to receive financial information? Its coming up on 2 months without any correspondence from the financial aid department since my acceptance.
I do have gmail (they were having problems with their messages going to spam), but I followed up and still received no correspondence.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

So two months is a little excessive...does no correspondence mean no offer?scottidsntknow wrote:It took me a week to get a scholly, for some another week or so.littlegiant wrote:Question for those already admitted:

Received scholarship info today at 5:18pm EST, admitted 3/5 (if that helps anyone still waiting as far as timelines go). BEYOND thrilled.

Anyone have any details on WUSTL’s deferral policy? I emailed admissions a while back but have yet to hear back. More specifically, does anyone know if deferrals are binding and also what impact they have on scholarships? While I would love to attend this year, I have been asked to stay on for another year in my current role and an additional year of full-time work would certainly help mitigate my future debt load. Any insight would be very much appreciated!

If you defer, you agree to enroll in the fall. You can't apply to other schools. And your scholarship is locked in, you can't negotiate higher.santaclus wrote:Anyone have any details on WUSTL’s deferral policy? I emailed admissions a while back but have yet to hear back. In my opinion, unless you're completely set on attending WUSTL (yay if you are), just withdraw and re-apply to schools again next year, including WUSTL

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Many thanks! This is very helpful. I think I may end up just reapplying next year if that is the case. Depending on shifting political winds, I may end up being asked to stay longer so being locked in at WUSTL would be tough. GW on the other hand seems willing to let me defer without any constraints... It's a tough call to say the least.cusenation wrote:If you defer, you agree to enroll in the fall. You don't gain anything by committing yourself to a school by deferring. You'll be admitted again if you re-apply.santaclus wrote:Many thanks! This is very helpful. Deferring only really makes sense if you have a completely satisfactory scholarship package from your dream school and you have some personal reason for taking some time off
Consider re-taking the LSAT during your year off and re-applying
