No, that's weird. I asked a question the day I got that email, got a response, and sent in a second essay later that week and received a receipt of them getting it the next day. I'd say you should email them again, just to make sure.

Meh. I also wouldn't worry about "worrying" adcomms. It's their job to respond to applicants. It's not going to affect your chances unless you call every day asking the same question.
