Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Question:
I sent an LOCI and an updated resume the same day we got the mysterious e-mail. I know that others on here heard back acknowledging that they sent in more material. I did not receive any kind of acknowledgement. Should I shoot out another e-mail confirming? Or would that be super annoying?

I would always politely follow up and confirm, especially since the office claims to have issues with their email server.emkay625 wrote:Question:

No, that's weird. I asked a question the day I got that email, got a response, and sent in a second essay later that week and received a receipt of them getting it the next day. I'd say you should email them again, just to make sure.emkay625 wrote:Question:

Seriously? Are you going to bother them like this EVERY TIME you email them something? If you're gonna freak out like this, do it on TLS. Don't annoy the admissions office like this. I thought we confirmed with 150% certainty that the email meant literally absolutely nothing, zilch, nada.Mr. Somebody wrote:I would always politely follow up and confirm, especially since the office claims to have issues with their email server.emkay625 wrote:Question:

Meh. I also wouldn't worry about "worrying" adcomms. It's their job to respond to applicants. It's not going to affect your chances unless you call every day asking the same question.soj wrote:Seriously? Are you going to bother them like this EVERY TIME you email them something? Yes, definitely follow up and ask because they are very responsive.emkay625 wrote:Question:

LOL... as a major participant in that conversation, let's not start this again (even though you were clearly joking) and that's not along the same lines of what the conversation was about.

Hint: soj is making a joke referencing some past ~~drama~~ that went down ITT. I don't think he actually believes that an email would worry adcomms. (:Nelson wrote:Meh. I'm joking, you guys!!

I don't have any admissions materials to trade, but I do have a rousing thesis on number theory you are free to peruse.Mr. Somebody wrote:if anyone wants to read my corny LOCIsh email that I drafted, happy to trade and read anything of yours if you have something....
