on reserve.
they said that they will have a better idea about their class size, and thus be able to pick some people from the reserve list, in late may. correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought their deposit deadline was april 15th. so i assume the newly-opened spots would be from people who were admitted after this deadline?

Its fairly common to pay the first seat deposit and then head elsewhere. After the second seat deposit they have a fairly good idea about their class.theturkeyisfat wrote:on reserve.

How does one do a LOCI/updates recommendation? I assume via snail mail, but is there any way to do it via LSAC?

In my email, they said to email them at lawadmit@lawschool.cornell.edu

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Just withdrew. It felt pointless to wait for a decision when I'm so set on Duke with $$.
I hope one of you gets in, and perhaps the admissions office doesn't reflect the quality of the rest of the university or law school, but I feel the urge to say "I couldn't care less to attend a school whose admissions office can't even get their s**t together and send everyone decisions before the deposit deadline." It really just reflects poorly on their organizational skills and quite frankly I almost wanted to request a refund.
Done. Best of luck you all. I hope you guys who truly want it get in.

Seriously I should have withdrawn but cornell admissions pissed me off so much I just wanted to reject them. I would have considered them at one time but making people who applied 5 months ago wait until after seat deposit deadlines is a crappy move and that completely turned me off from them. Maybe I wouldn't care if I was an anamoly but it seems standard operating procedure over there.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
I can resonate with this. Not with Cornell, thankfully. Somehow I was part of the chosen few. But I stuck it out with UCLA even though I knew I was not going. It's a matter of closure, really. Took them until this Tuesday to give me a decision. It takes at least some effort to apply, even if you got a fee waiver. Might as well make them do their part, especially when they make you wait for an ungodly amount of time.unc0mm0n1 wrote:edited out a douchebag statement.Bildungsroman wrote:Why would you immediately withdraw? Yeah I did but I didn't want to come off as a douche, esp since it seems like I was the only one accepted yesterday (does cornell accept in batches).ktg808 wrote:I mean, he paid for a decision.

Yeah, I understand. I was lucky enough to be accepted EA, but watching the admissions process has made me feel almost frustrated by proxy with how slow Cornell is, and how uncommunicative they seem to be (esp. putting out timelines they don't stick to). Enjoy Harvard, man.unc0mm0n1 wrote:Yeah I did but I didn't want to come off as a douche, esp since it seems like I was the only one accepted yesterday (does cornell accept in batches).ktg808 wrote:I mean, he paid for a decision.

Some Cornell applicants were updated today from 4/27 to 4/29. I have no idea what this means, however.
