Sorry to so solicit but i figure someone might be looking for a summer place here too.Hey, Im looking for a grad student roommate, preferably someone in the law school. I am starting in the summer program around June 15th, so we will need to find a place before then.
Just to give you a perspective, I am going to be searching within 5 minutes of the school preferably around 12th st north of the school, or broadway street (the only places I have seen). Definitely not looking for something south. The place will be at least 2 bedroom and preferably 2 bath as well. Hopefully we could find something sub $900 for each of us.
I am a straight 22 year old male from California. I am athletic, extremely healthy, dont smoke, i do drink occasionally and will probably have people over sometimes as I hope to be still social in law school. I am extremely clean and do indulge in music fanatically sometimes. I promise the music will be quality.
So I am looking for a cool down to earth person preferably straight (no offense), CLEAN, and is willing to find a nice place that we could enjoy for the year. Oh yeah i have a snake, and I am okay with cats and dogs (lets try not to have a zoo).
Let me know soon, I will be travelling South America from the end of april until the beginning of june (around the 10th i will return), so I dont have a much time left to find a place.
Thanks!

Hey how are you negotiating your scholarship? Did you get a higher offer at another school? I reallyyyyy want to negotiate mine, but I haven't really got any other offers to leverage it.uwb09 wrote:I'm leaning heavily towards Seattle U at the moment. I just sent an e-mail to the financial aid office trying to persuade them to up my 11K scholarship.
I'm going to the bay area on the 22nd to check out Santa Clara, McGeorge, and U of San Fran. My Seattle U deposit is due on the 19th, so I'll have that in before I leave for Sacramento. Santa Clara is my main option down there and their deposit deadline is the 23rd, so it's going to be a "here's the school, now pay us tomorrow or don't come back" kind of situation haha
anyway, i've been to seattle U a couple times over the past year but never really explored it. My friend and I are gonna drive down there sometime next week and really kinda spent a couple hours just walking around hanging out. I feel like once I get onto campus, dig around, and really explore the building, i'll go from "leaning heavily" to "bay area trip is now pretty much purely a vacation"
and I look forward to meeting you at the dinner! thanks for the heads up about business casual, that's what I wear to work so nice to know I can just go there straight from work and be good to go. did you get an e-mail back confirming your reservation?

Re: Seattle 2010
Ya I got a couple higher ones that I mentioned, but I mainly played up my ties to the seattle area and my passion for practicing law in the region, also brought up a couple strong points from my application and added in a new point.
If you have acceptances from other schools, you could compare total COA's for each school. With Seattle's massive tuition hike this year you might be able to play up the fact that even with similar scholarships, Seattle's COA is a bit higher, and you would appreciate a scholarship increase to make them level out.

Thanks. This puts Seattle on equal ground with USF. However, I'm at risk at losing Seattle's scholarship whereas USF has no strings. Seattle is still in consideration, I just wish I had the budget to fly out and visit the school/city to help my decision.uwb09 wrote:

I went today to sit in on a class and tour the facilities. On my tour the student that was showing me around let me know that they are currently reviewing applications from the first week of February. This is mildly disappointing as I didn't apply until February 19th, but that's obviously my fault for not getting it in sooner. Patience is the order of the near future I suppose.

I have no first hand knowledge of this, but their requirements page (http://www.law.seattleu.edu/x1295.xml) states that you can run a Mac with Bootcamp only. I would suggest sending an email to their tech address.TC0707 wrote:Sorry to change subject on people....

When I visited they said you can have a Mac but for exams you have to run PC software. Apparently the Tech office can install a program on your Mac that lets you run Windows at the same time.

I do not know much a bout MACS, but they do use OneNote extensively, which I don't think a MAC can run. Probably a work around. Also, search SU website for ExamSoft. It says something about no support for MACs.TC0707 wrote:Sorry to change subject on people....

Yep, this is depressing. Complete 2/11, so I guess it's not too bad... Still. I've been really crossing my fingers to hear something the last couple of weeks. Guess I'll be doing it again next week.echelon wrote:I went today to sit in on a class and tour the facilities. just wanted to let my fellow Seattle applicants knows that I am considered for the Access Admissions program and a decision was made for me as of yesterday via status checker. So it looks like Seattle is having some movement...
