School started, so I'll be slow the first few weeks (I always start off the semester believing I am going to try).

And, I am at work right now, so that should answer some of it

My problem is I gravitate towards UCI/USD/Davis/Hastings posts and only a few others.

Ya seriously. I used to be, worst case scenario I'm in at USD, except now it looks like my scholly is going to be dismal.

At least you are accepted at Hastings, in addition to all of the other great offers.

It's been quiet on LSN and TLS (except for our irrelevant rambling [many times facilitated by me].. )...hope they're not slowing down on calls! (WISHING that they haven't even started calling in high volumes yet, although I find that unlikely.) How many acceptances do you guys think they'll give out this year?

i don't think their mass calling hasn't begun and won't until after feb 15th (their app deadline) to see the entire pool. you mentioned that there were a decrease in applicants this year and if thats true, the more the reason to wait to see the entire pool.

they had a very high matriculating rate last year. since they want 80 students... somewhere around a 100-200 should fill that up... i think

In fact ANY news from ANYONE in California would be welcome.

gah, I forgot their deadline was feb. 15th instead of the first like many schools (the ones I applied to, anyway.) I reeeeally wonder if LSN is an accurate representation of who's been admitted so far (numbers-wise, GPA/LSAT range wise).

I realized that both LSN and TLS attracts the more top heavy candidates. If you compare each school's medians to the median of the admits in LSN and TLS, it seems as if most schools should have much higher medians... of course there are exceptions but i believe this is the case for majority of schools...

Yeah...I think maybe they'll accept their auto-admits first along with splitters/reverse-splitters that could maintain their high medians...then wait to see what happens. But as of now, the LSN admits mostly seem like they have very good offers due to their numbers (e.g., protokurios with his columbia acceptance congrats, btw), so Irvine's matriculation rate has to go down this year since they can't offer 100% to everyone. I hope they account for this in deciding how many people to call...

I looked up your profile on LSN, if the #'s are accurate I'd say you have a decent chance at Hastings. That GPA will help quiet a bit.
