WHy would I go to osu at cost over Northwestern at cost with badass lrap?
That's rough man, sorry to hear. The Moritz Merit doesn't necessarily use LSDAS gpa, so I figured you had a good shot there.
Just emailed the finaid dean asking them to reconsider, or at least have a longer conversation with me about things. We'll see, my wife really doesn't want to move! On the bright side, a while ago capital gave me a bunch of $$ :(
I think this is a good approach, perhaps they were simply engaging in a little YP??? All they would need is your intent, unless there is something else about your file that would cause a hesitation! Good luck bud!

Not sure if it's actually helpful at all, but I thought I'd mention it because it's interesting.

After being admitted the OSU status checker continues to update. What I'm pointing out is specifically the Mailings section. Everything they send to you via email or snail mail, including those single page mailings like the career services letter, is marked down. Again, it's not very helpful but it at least helps you keep track of everything they're sending you.
Diversity Enrichment Scholarship Award - 03/01/2010
Career Services Letter - 02/22/2010
Dean's Welcome Letter - 02/17/2010
Visitation Invitation - 02/02/2010
Admittance Email - 02/01/2010
Application Receipt Confirmation - 11/23/2009

I went complete the first week of December and my wonderful alma mater has still yet to even render a decision to me.

I'm pretty sure today was the FAFSA deadline for need-based at Ohio State. I seem to recall the admissions office saying they offer a max of $8,500/year for need-based aid. Hope this helps.

Is FAFSA the only thing that I have to file for need-based grant?

No, there was a Moritz need-based grant application form (LinkRemoved) that needed to get in by March 1.

That is way past the 6-8 week turnaround time they claim. I hope we hear from them before deposits are due at other schools in April.
