Eh, he/she has a 180 so unless your LSAT is anywhere near that I wouldn't concern yourself with the amount. In other news, baiailian, what on earth are you doing applying to Fordham?!bissey wrote:in borat voice: very nice, how much?BaiAilian2013 wrote:Scholarship letter from Fordham!

+1. I've been criticized for over-applying, and even I didn't go outside the top 20.crackberry wrote:Eh, he/she has a 180 so unless your LSAT is anywhere near that I wouldn't concern yourself with the amount. EDIT: Why didn't you give your 180 a shot at some of the top 10? I think that at least one of them would have taken a serious look at you.

hmmm, well I'm going to guess that the LSN profile is incomplete and she is going to update it as the cycle goes on; otherwise we'll have to hack her LSAC account and fill the apps out for her.

Fordham gave me $20k/yr, automatically renewable, which I think is pretty neat. Current law students have led me to expect slightly more than that from Fordham's peer institutions, but I've also heard Fordham is quite poor, so maybe it doesn't bode badly.
And yes, I applied to a good number of places from Yale on down, but someone on here said it was a bad idea to disclose all of your applications on LSN, in case adcomms see it. I think this makes no sense and is probably false, but it frightened me nonetheless.

Also,

If you're not a jerk online, is there actually a good case against outing yourself?
Glad to hear it; I was worried that you were selling yourself short!
What difference would it make if adcomms see, I wonder? Duke accepted me after my Harvard acceptance, so they're not automatically tossing you out if you've been admitted to a higher-ranked school. I think that hiding your apps only makes sense if you plan on making critical remarks about certain schools here.

You received, to the best of my knowledge, the largest merit scholarship Fordham gives. (There may be a handful more that are given upon invitation, or for PI students, but I was hardly deserving of money, so I don't know much about it.) You were well informed that our peer schools are far wealthier; I'm pleased my school has managed so well with this modest endowment. And also happy we don't yield protect, as YP is a vile practice.
Without knowledge of your GPA, I can't be certain, but some of our wealthier peers should offer you full rides. As for full disclosure of numbers, the risk depends on the rarity of your LSAT/GPA. Minimao was legendary, and her 180/3.15 split might easily have given her away. She's now a 2L at my favorite T14, so has little to fear. I advise people to be more concerned about sharing unusual personal details. Fordham identified me because I talked about my major, not because of my 164. Those with average numbers like mine need not fear identification by disclosure.
Best of luck, and enjoy your cycle!

I did meet someone who was offered $25k a year, but her background was one of extreme economic hardship, so much of this had to be need based. I do believe people come to Fordham for love of the school (and obviously for love of NYC) but you will have many enviable options from which to choose.BaiAilian2013 wrote:OperaSoprano wrote: You received, to the best of my knowledge, the largest merit scholarship Fordham gives.
