Re: Harvard 2010!
I don't think place in line would be affected by updating, because you get queued up once you go complete.
I have a question that might be stupid: JR, is his surname pronounced Ruben-STEEN or Ruben-STYNE? It's one of those things I really don't want to mess up, silly as that sounds.

hm, i dont remember what he said. its ok, i dont see why you would need to pronounce his last name. he signs his emails 'Josh' and when he calls he says 'hi this is josh rubenstein'picaresco wrote:I don't think place in line would be affected by updating, because you get queued up once you go complete.

I wanted to ask: does Harvard look down upon more than 2 LORs? I have read that somewhere.... did people send more?

Re: Harvard 2010!
I submitted 3, which is what I sent almost all schools. The Harvard site says:Kulax22 wrote:I wanted to ask: does Harvard look down upon more than 2 LORs? I have read that somewhere.... did people send more?
How many letters of recommendations does Harvard require? Can I submit more?
Two recommendations are required. Although two thoughtfully selected recommenders are likely to be more effective than several chosen less carefully, there is no strict limit on the number of recommendations one can submit.
So basically, they're warning that you aren't going to get points for quantity (and might even look worse), but if you know you have 3 stellar letters, I think sending all of them could only help you. I also think letter type should be a consideration; I had two very different academic LORs and a professional one.

Re: Harvard 2010!
Does anyone know when Harvard will start notifying this year? I recently had my phone interview and was curious how long I'd have to wait in agony. It seems like in previous years it was anywhere between the 21-25th of November. Has it changed with the new admissions dean?

Looks like I can be expecting that rejection letter soon. Harvard is a shot in the dark for me but I thought I'd throw away the $100 just so I wasn't always wondering. According to hourumd about 2% of non-urm's with my numbers got in.... so there's a chance right?

I think if you want to go to HLS, you should apply, regardless of your numbers. Who cares if their yield goes up when they reject you? Why be so combative? If you want to go, apply.

If you want to go, I think getting a high LSAT and high GPA is a better pathlawgunner75 wrote:I think if you want to go to HLS, you should apply, regardless of your numbers. Who cares if their yield goes up when they reject you? Why be so combative? If you want to go, apply.

Re: Harvard 2010!
I try to not put too much stock in the predictors. My LSAT is well within the 25/75, my GPA isn't...I'm pessimistic but we'll see what happens.somethingclever wrote:Me too.letsgojayhawks wrote:I just went under review!!! Submitted 10/26, I went straight from app received to app under review.![]()

Re: Harvard 2010!
congrats! hope it went well. its okay, most ppl always sound nervous for TS1/JR1...i have a feeling i almost came off as ambivalent...oh man, that'd be bad. more time i put in between the interview and the present, the worse it feels like it wentad astra wrote:had my JR1 today. Re: Harvard 2010!
OK, in case not everyone knows, I made the thread (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =7&t=93290) where I'm compiling all the info as to this cycle and will be updating it with some numbers when decisions start coming. So, I would really appreciate if those of you who have already heard from Harvard and haven't posted in that thread yet, do so.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Yeah, that's right, this is an ad

JR tells you exactly what he'll ask you in the JR1 e-mail invite. It's very transparent. He basically asks you what you've been doing, why law school, why harvard, and if you have any questions.
