Sorry about the WLs guys <3 maybe it's a YP? I seem to have avoided the waitlist wave today, but I feel, having interviewed in the second week of November, this does not bode well for me

The waitlist email says to respond indicating whether I wish to stay on the waitlist or not. Should my response simply be a couple sentences saying that I am still interested and want to remain on the waitlist, or should it be an official LOCI? I'm going to get another job hopefully in the next couple weeks and sort of want to wait until then to send my official LOCI. What should I do?
Thanks!

I would just check the box (if there is one) and say that you are still interested then write an official LOCI. That's what I did for a certain school.studyingeveryday wrote:The waitlist email says to respond indicating whether I wish to stay on the waitlist or not. There isn't a form or a box, they just want a response about whether or not I want to remain on the waitlist. Should I email stating my continued interest and then just send an official LOCI later? Or should I just send my official LOCI now and then update them about my job when it happens?EinassA wrote:I would just check the box (if there is one) and say that you are still interested then write an official LOCI. You can write a short sentence about how you would still like to be considered and then follow up later with a LOCI when you're ready...If you're starting a new job, that'll definitely be something you would want to mention in a LOCI! Just my thoughts..studyingeveryday wrote:There isn't a form or a box, they just want a response about whether or not I want to remain on the waitlist. Okay, thank you! I'll email back with a few sentences and then send the LOCI with a new job.EinassA wrote:You can write a short sentence about how you would still like to be considered and then follow up later with a LOCI when you're ready...If you're starting a new job, that'll definitely be something you would want to mention in a LOCI! How much would you all say that a new job plays in? I started a new job too but it's pretty unrelated. Also anyone know of anyone who had success getting off waitlist after taking a campus visit?studyingeveryday wrote:Okay, thank you! I can only offer my inexperienced advice, but I would imagine a new, unrelated job with substantial increase in responsibilities would be worth mentioning. If you visited, I would definitely mention that in the LOCI as affirming your interests!jag13 wrote:How much would you all say that a new job plays in? Quick question: I completed my alumni interview on December 7th and have received no word about my file being updated with that information. Is that normal? Has anyone gotten any kind of email stating that the school had received our interviewer's review?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You won't be notified at all when your interviewer submits. I wish it would let applicants know, but I suppose it could be embarrassing in the cases where an interviewer waits two weeks to submit a form that takes 10 minutes to complete.kostling wrote:Quick question: I completed my alumni interview on December 7th and have received no word about my file being updated with that information. Anyone else beating their head on their desk trying to apply for the Law Scholars Merit Awards? It's a bit of a reach with my numbers so I'm trying to be persuasive. I thought I was really accomplished...

I turned mine in today and it was definitely harder than I thought it would be to answer those questions, especially in roughly half a page per answer. Hoping that VLS sees my submission and takes a look at my JD application itself as well since I still have not heard anything.Babe-Loblaw wrote:Anyone else beating their head on their desk trying to apply for the Law Scholars Merit Awards? All they've released so far is the dates: March 17th and April 7th.LawSchoolTitan wrote:Anyone have info on the ASP days?

There will be a couple panels. One going over the different programs, one with some students talking about jobs they got, life at Vandy, etc. There will be a mock class (last year the April one was reg state with Bressman) and you will sit in on a 1L class (I would guess a crim law class). Some 2Ls will take you on a tour and then there will be Blackacre with food and beer.Gitaroo_Dude wrote:All they've released so far is the dates: March 17th and April 7th.LawSchoolTitan wrote:Anyone have info on the ASP days?

Any current students have any experience with Scarritt-Bennett Center? Trying to finish up my ASW plans but all the hotel options suck. Was wondering if the Center is any good before I look into airbnb or hostels. The price + location seem hard to beat.

It is basically a dorm room. Not very comfortable but nothing really wrong with it for a cheap place to sleep if you don't plan on spending much time there.Gitaroo_Dude wrote:Any current students have any experience with Scarritt-Bennett Center? FWIW I was waitlisted last year and did several campus visits/kept in contact and it didn't seem to do much. Then again, they didn't really dip much into the WL if at all bc they were getting more enrollments than expected. Still never got the feeling that it made much of an impact on anyone I communicated with.studyingeveryday wrote:+1 to the campus visit questionjag13 wrote:How much would you all say that a new job plays in?
