Hey, when you pressed the button on the website that let you apply PT, what happened? Like I am scared that if I don't want to apply PT after pressing the button that I'll be locked and wont be able to apply RD..
You put in your name, LSAC number and email and it registers you to apply PT.
Also, PT is still RD. It's not the same thing as ED. PT just means you'll get your decision within 10 days of your application going complete but it's non-binding.
Are we talking about Accelerated Early Decision?
https://law.duke.edu/earlydecision/
No.
"This is a non-binding program; if you are admitted to Duke, you may freely consider offers of admission from other law schools. "
You can apply in like January so it's not "early". It's just that you get the decision back within 10 days of your application, whenever that may be.

Ok, so this entire time you guys referring to PT were referring to something completely different...
Anyone have any experience with Accelerated Early Decision?

Yes. There is a difference between PT and ED...the letters, for one.

PT is a priority track program people with certain numbers (and must be based on other factors too) are invited to and Duke guarantees them a decision within like 10 days, it's non binding. Assuming the ED route is binding though I haven't looked into it at Duke.

It takes as much time to tell someone to use Google as it does to just tell them the answer you already know. <3

Thanks for answering a Duke Law admissions question in the Duke Law admissions forum.
Just wondering, how are you guys getting your additional essays edited? My pre law advisor is useless and I don't want to drop money on professionals for every essay.

Self editing. I've been out of U.S. universities for about two years so don't really have access to a pre-law advisor, imagine many are in the same boat, and definitely not paying anyone. Hopefully that's the majority, because I don't really want to be up against huge numbers of people having every essay professionally edited.

I've also been self-editing my essays this cycle. I think as long as you give yourself a chance to look at your essay with a fresh set of eyes a few times it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

Try an essay swap on TLS FWIW. I've done a few and received some helpful critiques. Tell them not to hold back.

Yes but it's much more likely that you hear on day 10. 9 seems to be pretty popular. 8 or less seems exceedingly rare

The accelerated Early Decision program is if you apply ED to Duke they will give you a decision within ten days. It's confusing because it's similar to PT to when you hear back but PT is non-binding while AED is binding. Hope that helps.

Application submitted. Non-priority track so this might be a long wait. Would probably do an embarrassing happy dance if I got an admit.

Hey guys! First post in here. I am taking the December LSAT, is there any way I would get a PT once they have that score or is it too late?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
