Got in today! Went DLS this morning, was able to get in the accepted students portal, and then got a call around 4pm congratulating me on my acceptance. GPA and LSAT both above 75s, and applied early October.

not necessarily. Many people didn't get a phone call. If you can log into the admitted students website, you should be in. Apparently the phone call can be spread out over multiple days as well.zeglo wrote:Today, 11/16, I got the status update "Decision letter sent."
I did not get a phone call. So I guess this means I was rejected?

congrats! you're 25<LSAT<50 and 50<GPA<75 right? I think you're the closest to a median applicant that has gotten in today.zeglo wrote:Update: I got in! I was able to log in to their website with the default username and password! Hooray!

Any KJD's get in today? I'm above both 75ths, but I've been UR1 since late September and I'm worried they're waiting on fall semester grades or something.

Can you give us a general culture assessment of NYU? Are the students friendly or is it more of a "cutthroat" environment?

Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I am in the law school housing, and I wasn't happy about that at first. I kind of had to because getting a place in NYC when you can't visit is damn near impossible. I actually am really happy about it now. No monthly bills of any kind is nice, having everything just paid for and out of mind. It is crazy close to school, and being able to get to class in a 5 min walk is golden. I mean its the village. Pretty much all of manhattan is fine all the time. I wasn't use to big cities and felt weird at first, but I don't blink about walking around at 3am now. It's just not an issue around NYU. I guess anything can happen, but I feel plenty safe and feel safe about my wife walking about at night too.zeglo wrote: How is housing? Can you find good places within walking distance? I will say if you aren't used to cities NY can be intense. It is huge and busy and overwhelming. I came from small town/country America, but I love the city. I can see how that wouldn't be the case for everyone though. There is always stuff to do, things to see, and really you can do a lot for fairly cheap. For livability and comfort I am very glad I came here over Ann Arbor or Charlottesville.

I think the rep I heard about NYU being fun and having an anti-gunner inclination has turned out to be very true. Most of the students are awesome and very helpful. I really haven't met one "cutthroat" person. Maybe they are just hiding in the library though. People do have fun here, and we hang out a lot. I love it personally. Plenty of people told me law school would suck, but so far so good. (Ask again in 3 weeks)SilverSurfer2020 wrote:

Good morning everyone. Congrats to everyone who was admitted.
I'm taking a fresh approach today
in all my nerves and because I was at work, I never recognized the fact that the vast majority of people reporting their stats who went DLS yesterday were above both or sometimes one of the 75ths. I feel a little more at ease now, and will try to get things done at work today without refreshing this page! Good luck to everyone

I'm worried, too. There seems to be some splitters that got in yesterday.Keilz wrote:Good morning everyone. Congrats to everyone who was admitted.

I'm a splitter with a gpa<25th and lsat>75th. I applied 9/20 so this does suck.

Hey! Me too! Also UR1 since 9/16... objectively speaking I think there's zero need to worry. Nevertheless... why don't they want me:(

Sorry, typo, my GPA is a bit lower than their 25th so GPA<25th and LSAT>75th by a good amount.

Only a day passed so I'm sure we'll hear back soonunrelated wrote:Thelaw23 wrote:I'm worried, too. There seems to be some splitters that got in yesterday.Keilz wrote:Good morning everyone. Congrats to everyone who was admitted.
