If money is a top consideration, you can easily calculate what your expected financial aid would be.

Yes. I had a very strong feeling I wouldn't say yes due to costs and this email made it crystal clear.

I don't know if it is actually that easy, unless you can point me to a calculator that determines the expected parental contribution and can answer my above questions.

I am also happy to pm my personal financial information (i.e., my savings, my parents income, and my parents net worth) to anyone if they are interested in accurately calculating my financial aid, and potentially removing me from the waitlist.
Why don't you call the financial aid office to find out more?
I am planning on it, if no one here has answers.

+1

we could have something like:
what stage of the waitlist are you at?

JS1 -> WL -> JS2
WL -> JS1 - > JS2
WL -> JS1
JS1 -> WL
WL
Withdrawn from WL*

but with better formatting lol

Doesn't seem like it. I'm guessing we might not see anything 'til next week - if that email was designed to encourage people who aren't serious to withdraw, I'm thinking they'll want to give them enough time to think it over and do so before they start making offers.

I can't help but think it would have made more sense to actually have waitlisted people complete an online form. People can ignore the email and not feel morally obligated to accept an offer from the waitlist.
But may that would feel too much as pressuring folks to commit.

seems like a reasonable theory. maybe js1s early next week and js2s the week after. there are no interview slots opened atm, yeah?

also seems like majority of wl is pre-js1no js1... surprises me a little bit

What do you mean by pre js1? - like the had their js1 pre waitlist or they were waitlisted pre js1? I have not had a js1 yet.

oh woops yeah confusing language. i meant pre-js1 as in "has not yet had their js1" (waitlisted without a js1)

Interview slots open for every day next week. I don't know when they went up but I noticed them earlier this evening.

Lots. M/F has 20m slots from ~1p-4p EST. T/W/TH has 20m slots from ~9a-4p.
