Thank you soo much !! Im curious about the following:
- Can someone without a math or engineerimg background do GW's IP program and reasonably expect to get a job?
- What type of jobs do ppl with median grades take?
- How easy or difficult is it to write onto LR or journal?
- How easy or difficult to get your first choice clinic?
...I have other questions but my brain is not working at the moment. Its too early in the morning..
Thanks !! ;)
@mo-brien, i hope you get this post on time for Friday,
I do have some additional Qs:

- Do they have a summer job lined up? What kind of work? How did they find it?
- How does their OCI work? Bidding?
- Are grades published? Are ppl ranked? Is there a forced curve?
- Are lgl writing / lgl research classes graded or P/NP?
- If you run into a 3L, do they have a job lined up at graduation? How did they find that job?
- Which other schools were they considering before they chose GW?
- For observation only: Do they seem happy? Or...do they feel trapped?

Thanks very much!! Looking forward to hearing about your experience,

Hadn't heard about a scholarship, so I emailed explaining my continued interest. They confirmed that I had been considered but was not granted an award. They noted that they would put me on a reconsideration list and I would hear back by April 13. Just FYI for anyone else hoping to hear.

When were you accepted? According to the thread and LSN, there's only been one huge wave of scholarship emails a few weeks ago, and I assume those admitted after will have another wave well before the scholarship negotiation/reconsideration date.

Early December. I'm sure they still have offers to send out, but I just wanted to let people know that it's possible they looked at your application and decided not to give anything to you (my situation).

No correspondence. Though that doesn't surprise me, as I don't know any school that lets admitted students know that they aren't being awarded anything.

Did anyone hear back on scholarships recently? Any guesses on when the next wave will be? Early or mid-March?

I called the admissions office last week to ask about Scholarship information and they told me that the next wave would be coming out mid-March.

I was admitted too late to get in on the first round of scholarships, but just got a pretty considerable offer from Georgetown. Think I should preempt GW's offer (presuming I do get a scholarship) and tell them about G now? Georgetown has an April 1 deadline so I'm conscious of having to go back and forth among all my schools before that date.

I am still waiting as well. Starting to get rather impatient since some of my schools have April 1 deadlines...they're not giving us much time to weigh options!

you might already know that this is how law schools try to control their scholarship nego process. the thing is they dont want us shopping around. all i can say is that you shld try to have a very good counteroffer ready when gw opens an offer mid march. thats all..

I'm considering it? I would probably be running late, but I do like Roaring Fork and would like to put faces to names ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just registered to go! I will be bringing a friend to make the whole thing less awkward. I love Roaring Fork and am really just hoping for free food

Has anyone successfully negotiated a scholarship?? Also does anyone know if there is any leniency as far as possibly moving the deadline for your first deposit until you hear back about a negotiated amount?

Thanks

I sent an email earlier today asking for my scholarship amount to be reconsidered and I got an email telling me that the Scholarship Committee is reviewing scholarship increase requests in early April and will report back by April 13th (at least for me). They recommended submitting the first deposit. YMMV, but this is kind of disappointing.

Thanks I also Emailed them using my scholarship from Emory as my baseline. Got the same response and asked if there is any way to move my deadline to April 15, which is when Emory's deposit is due. Also found their policy to be a bit disappointing/disingenuous to the students but it is my top choice.

Admissions says there's a second round of scholarships going out at the end of the week via email.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
