Everybody was uber nice and cool and willing to discuss aspects of the school. I met students who weren't even part of the weekend who were willing to speak to me about the school. My mock class was with Schapiro; he was awesome, I loved the class for the most part, the gunners were a bit annoying though. The students and faculty definitely exaggerated how far across the country an Emory JD can take you. I'm from Atlanta so I didn't have any new impressions of the city.
There was also this cute girl who sat next to me but I couldn't talk to her cause her dad was by her the entire time

I loved it! It seems like everyone genuinely enjoys being there. I also had my mock class with Schapiro, and thought he was fantastic. I answered one question, and didn't really think anyone demonstrated gunner-level enthusiasm, although a few people rambled considerably.TheProdigal wrote:Anyone have thoughts or insights from the Visiting Day experience?
Why do you think they exaggerated? Just curious. The (brief) research I've done suggests that alums find jobs in plenty of areas outside Georgia...adil91 wrote:The students and faculty definitely exaggerated how far across the country an Emory JD can take you. I enjoyed having my dad there, FWIW. Guess you'll have to wait until August for your dream girl, adil!

I really enjoyed it. Emory did a great job with all of their events. I loved every faculty member that I encountered -- knowledgable and passionate people. (Most were funny too!) Despite the general disapproval of parents on these forums, it seemed to be the case that most people brought a parent or a significant other. I brought both and Emory also made them feel welcome and answered their questions.TheProdigal wrote:Anyone have thoughts or insights from the Visiting Day experience?
I wasn't 100% sure before but I've since paid my deposit and found an apartment.

I answered a question too, I was in the 2nd row, you may have seen me. I hope I didn't ramble on. I think you have to have strong connections or be in the very top of your class to get a job somewhere outside of Georgia. Some of the faculty made it seems as though you could simply ask career services to find you opportunities across the country and those positions would be open to Emory students. I guess so..I know she was from Kentucky..I hope she posts or lurks here hahahaCharlie_Bradbury wrote:I loved it! It seems like everyone genuinely enjoys being there. As per the FAQ
Q: Do you rank your wait list?
A: Emory Law’s selection process is not based on rank.

Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Same... I thought I would get in but I slightly suspect it's because I wrote down all 21 law schools I was applying to on my application, and Emory admissions saw this and figures I won't go? In any case, I'm jumping on this one and will be sending an LOCI right away. I was on the fence about Emory, but now that it's forbidden fruit, I need the acceptance! Great school with some great opportunities... :'( Can't a girl pay $60,000+ to read some books in Atlanta?Dulman wrote:Same here.Bilka wrote:Just got WL email.

WL just now too. Not sure if I'll ride it out. A little surprised about the WL, but does anyone know if there's a possibility for $$ off the wait list?

Mine just said "wait list". I assume they either say what I got or "priority wait list"...not sure if priority WL e-mails went out today as well?applicant4321 wrote:are the WL emails that came out today for the standard WL or priority WL?

I know priority went out last week along with an invite to an event at the school so I'm guessing those went out earlier so people could RSVP to the event.
Just wondering if more invites went out today, but its looking like not.
