Does anyone know if its possible to ask them to push back my deposit deadline? I was accepted only a week ago but my deposit is due April 1st. Im still waiting to hear from other schools but I don't want them to take away my seat and scholarship. Any advice?? Thanks!

Check lawschoolnumbers.com for a better look at your chances and if you'll get any $$Comet123 wrote:ilikebaseball wrote:I got a phone call, but my status changed before I got the call, so I was expecting it.Comet123 wrote:
Cool. I also live near UTD. Did you receive a phone call or e-mail when you were admitted? Ive seen some postings where people get phone calls.
Cool. My LSAT is near the 25% for SMU but my GPA is at the 75 mark but I wrote an LSAT addendum and a good personal statement so I'm hoping I get in. Ive been accepted into other good law schools (Maryland, Colorado-Boulder, Texas Tech) but I am holding out for smu.
Waiting still sucks..
Great. I checked the stats. I called Admissions on Wednesday and told them I had been accepted into a lot of law schools but they were my first choice and Dallas was my home. They said they would get back to me before April 1st when any of my deposits at other schools were due.

ASD was pretty fun today, although I think most of you opted for the one in April

Went to ASD Friday and liked SMU a lot. Putting down my deposit next week! Hope everyone who is going to the later ASD likes it as well.

I am planning on going to the April 10th ASD. Does anyone know the etiquette of bringing a spouse? I thought I might ask admissions, but I didn't want them just to say yes if it isn't really acceptable. Has anyone brought their spouse?

At this point I'm thinking that more decisions will come after the deposit deadline passes so they have an idea of who is already enrolling.

Went to the ASD on the 27th and brought my wife. Just let the office know you will be bringing them and it shouldn't be an issue. Also, there were a few folks who brought their folks!Accountanon wrote:I am planning on going to the April 10th ASD. Does anyone know the etiquette of bringing a spouse? Really nervous for tomorrow, cuz I'm sure that's when all of us will be hearing about our scholly negotiations. Not really expecting anything from SMU though... I know its a new dean, but maybe they say "this is the first year we've ever reconsidered merit amounts" every year just so they don't have to tell us "we rarely change the amount"

quick question, did anyone else write on their reconsideration? I sent them other offers, but I also sent a separate email about increasing my LSAT score as well

This is the eleventh hour with respect to negotiations. I sent my appeal for reconsideration three weeks ago. Maybe they can be pushed after the deadline as well. I heard from them back in January that this cycle is LOW.
