Oh I don't doubt that it's true, just think it's crazy that they started that early in the day.

4,482 apps last cycle, 408 offers made, 179 matrics. 13 offers by this point in the cycle listed on LSN, though this year is obviously different: http://stanford.lawschoolnumbers.com/ap ... t=decision. 45 total acceptances listed on LSN for the cycle, so about 11 percent of the total offer pool. Extrapolating, that means (if constant rate), 118 of the 408 total acceptances offered by this point in the cycle last year.

ETA: Point is, Dean Deal probably has a lot of calls to make to catch up to the pace of last year's cycle, if that's the aim, so that may explain the early start.

As more time passes and no one else on TLS or LSN has posted something, I'm definitely getting more cautious with my excitement. Seems a little weird that its been so long and no one else has reported an acceptance.

regardless of appearances, there are really only two explanations here:

1) they've started calling others too, but no one has updated LSN or TLS - extremely unlikely
2) they called one guy - even less likely

Not so much with TLS, but many people with tip-top numbers hide their LSN profile until the end of the admissions cycle.

Maybe that has something to do with it?

Seeing as his legitimacy has been corroborated by others here, and noting his URM status indicated in his LSN profile, I'd offer:

4) They called a handful of top tier URM applicants this morning, only one of whom is on LSN or TLS, and will do a general wave later this week.
