ED is not a great outcome, so don't be sad if you don't get it. Just retake.kfree wrote:Any other ED applicants waiting to hear? I am starting to lose hope...

Got the Why Texas email. Honestly I'm just glad they are giving me a chance, I was so worried being OOS yet they are my top choice.

sooo... I've been accepted to UVA and Georgetown so far but i just got a straight denial email from Texas. I know Texas is competitive but I did not think they were that much so. I at least thought I would make it on to a waitlist. Is it an out of state thing? Also, I never got a "why texas"

ETA: They seem to be rather harsh this year.

It seems like if your numbers are too high this year (like $$$ in T14 kind of high) UT is just skipping the why Texas or WL and straight denying. If you're dying to go to Texas, you can seek reconsideration.

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
Still haven't heard, application complete September 30th/processed October 6th. Median LSAT, above 75% GPA. Starting to get nervous seeing that they've been sending out lots of decisions. Anyone else in a similar situation?
My permanent residence is in Texas, but I'm currently living abroad. Could that affect things? Also, I was admitted last year in April (Feb LSAT, March application), no money offered, and declined matriculation for financial reasons/planned to retake LSAT. Tearing my hair out thinking I'm going to regret that decision.

Also, you made the right call retaking and reapplying, sticker would be a bad decision. Pat yourself on the back for being so smart and go have a brew dog or something

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
Has anyone here applied for an application fee waiver? This is the only school I plan on applying to that I did not receive a waiver from. I definitely cannot afford the $70 at the moment for the application, but I also am fearful that applying for the waiver will negatively affect my chances of acceptance. Texas is one of my tops picks for sure. Any feedback/thoughts on this?

I am! I submitted mine the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I would also imagine my numbers are part of the equation, as I'm very borderline (166/3.Lions1913 wrote:Anyone else still waiting for a decision after writing a "Why Texas Law"? I submitted mine a week and a half ago and still no word.

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
I got one from UT because I was a resident but I requested fee waivers from a couple other schools and it didn't have any negative consequences. Just be courteous about it, ask if they offer merit based fee waivers and if they do, if you would qualify and give them your GPA/LSAT. Worst that can happen is they say no and you have to pay the $70.bluehose wrote:Has anyone here applied for an application fee waiver?
