Haha yeah I heard that class was somewhat delightful.smccgrey wrote:hahaha I totally was.JustHawkin wrote:Yeah I heard he lighted up a little. People who have him tend to get an "I'm better at civpro than you" complex which is annoying AF. You weren't in the "low hanging fruit" class were you? Heard that was a gem. TheSpanishMain actually has Abernathy.
There was a great moment where he kept getting this one guy to say the word "slut" because he didn't want to have to say it.

We (section 2) don't have any crazy cold callers this semester. Our classes (doctrinal at least, LRW is presently killing me for no reason what-so-ever) have seemed shockingly relaxed. Apparently we're in for a rude awakening next semester with Butler tho.JustHawkin wrote:Don't you worry. Also happy to answer any questions.

Do students have any choice in section besides the alternative curriculum? When are you assigned to one?BmoreOrLess wrote:

Nope. It's section 3 (curriculum B) or all others. I think we got our assignments late July early August.niplomo wrote:

If you're a global law scholar you'll be in section 2, but again, not really a choice. (i'm not a GLS)JustHawkin wrote:Nope. It's section 3 (curriculum B) or all others. I think we got our assignments late July early August.niplomo wrote:

Thanks for the answers! It seems as if some of the classes take different classes than others or focus on certain classes? Is this a result of the different programs (Section 3, GLS, etc)

Section 3 takes totally different classes than everybody else. They have a more 'philosophical' focus.niplomo wrote:Thanks for the answers! GLS has an extra meeting this semester every week, but I don't think it's graded. Next semester they all take a special elective, where the rest of us have an option of three classes for our elective. Other than that GLS takes all of the normal classes.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I have no idea, I'm not actually a GLS. I'd be slightly worried (and was pissed when I got the section assignment) about the natural section stacking that will go along with it, especially for the elective. But as to the actual benefits I don't really have a clue, but if you contacted admissions I'm sure they'd put you in touch with an alum. In fact, I'd want to talk to a recent alum rather than a current student since they could tell you about job outcomes.smccgrey wrote: Is there any obvious advantage to GLS? Like I want it because I'm multilingual but getting a language evaluation is turning into a lot of effort and I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Hi all-- wondering how others who are doing the "fill in the box" option are submitting it, as you cannot upload a PDF to LSAC. Thoughts? Advice?

Hey all,
my app was sent 10/22, completed 10/27, and today I got group interview invite which is supposed to happen November 17th. Does this mean that they are reluctant to pick me?
Kindda discouraged.
Also don't like the idea of group interview. Should I do it or not... ahhh.

no it doesn't mean they're reluctant to pick you. I didn't do it and it didn't seem to pose a problem.alphagirljhan wrote:Hey all,

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I was invited to one on the 6th, but will be flying out of town that day, so can't go. I honestly don't know whether it's a good sign or a bad sign or if it matters or could help or not. I read some various older threads on the topic on this site, and there seems to be contradictory opinions on what it means or its impact.alphagirljhan wrote:Hey all,

It sounds incredibly awkward to me, and I don't think I would like doing it at all, but if I get another chance when I'm around, I think I would just do it anyway.

I don't think the group invite is indicative of anything. I was invited and couldn't attend -- I was admitted a couple weeks later.alphagirljhan wrote:Hey all,
