Have you updated your CRS preferences to our cycle?

I also haven't gotten any waivers, for the record, maybe because of my February LSAT (I've gotten plenty for the 2013-2014 cycle). It's still early though, and we can always solicit later on!

So I did end up forcing myself to a write my PS this morning, and, I have to say, this method is surprisingly effective. The body of it is definitely still in 1st draft phase, and I'm sure I'll edit it aggressively before it goes anywhere, but I feel like I actually kind of nailed the intro and conclusion.

Finally, I have something on paper! Now back to Logic Games...

Hahaha weekends are the only time I have... sighhh... I'd binge on suits with the rest of you but I'm all out of new episodes.
I just finisged up 12 RC passages...now I need some "me" time and will go shopping. Later on, I will be going out so no time for suits either until tomorrow morning, or tomorrow afternoon.

If you receive an email from a law school that you have listed in yout application list on LSAC, but haven't applied to them yet, can they already kind of decide if they will accept you? For instance, I got an email from a law school stating my LSAT score and that coupled with my GPA should gain me acceptance should I apply. Are they just sending that to boost their applicant numbers, or do I really have a high chance of being admitted? I know we all get tons of law school emails, but this one was specific.
How are your numbers relative to their medians?

My numbers are either right at their median or slightly below.

Also, I am still shooting for a school that I'm in their 25% range or less. Does anyone have an words of encouragement on how they know someone who got accepted into a school that they weren't really qualified for??? lol

I put together most of my PS yesterday. I still have a lot to work on in revising it, but at least I've got a good start. It has been difficult for me to stay in the 3 page stipulation. I have so much to explain in mine and I don't want to have to wright a DS or Ad. I just want to be able to convey it all in my PS.

That sounds like a terrible idea to me. The PS is about who you are. I wouldn't be putting the things that belong in a diversity statement or addendum in my PS. Take the extra time to write the essays. Don't be lazy with your applications.

Well, I already thought it through and asked different people's advice on whether I should write a DS, AD, and PS or just one and came to the conclusion it would be best to do just the PS. I'm definitely not trying to be lazy with it; instead, I'm trying to polish my PS to convey everything I need it to without adding an extensive memorandum. I think the extra papers would take away from each other. I have a lot to write about but not enough for the different ones. The life I've had makes me diverse, but I think it is stronger as my PS.

I think the thing to worry about when you're pushing three pages is maintaining the reader's interest the whole time... is there a coherent theme that carries through the PS from intro to conclusion?
Agreed. Also make sure to check each school's requirements — you might not be applying to any of them, but some schools specifically ask for 2, and disregarding directions on apps is never a good idea.

How'd you like it? :D I had a typical stuck-at-college-over-the-summer-while-all-of-my-friends-are-home Saturday night — dinner with the SO then home to be boring together. Although, I'm reading Gone Girl right now at the insistence of a few friends, and it's awesome.

Yeah, I'm trying to go with a theme and keep it interesting. I've let two people read and critic it so far, and they've both said it was very interesting. So far I've only seen one requirement for one school regarding the PS. They just said it had to be no longer than three pages and anything can be talked about. I haven't found where the other schools have listed their requirements. Is it usually found in the application or something? Thanks :)

I think some schools have it listed on their websites, but yeah the safest bet is just to check applications when they open. Check the OP for a link to a calendar that lists all the Top 50 schools' app opening dates. Also, I happen to know that another calendar for the Top 100 will be coming sometime in the next few days.

Do all of them, well, at least a DS and PS. PS is obvious why, but the AD is optional unless you have a legit reason, and a DS shouldn't be optional. You may not face some racial or identity diversity, but that doesn't mean you aren't diverse. Put the work into the app, especially if you're shooting above what your numbers qualify you for.
