Still sitting at complete...have an admissions tour / meeting tommorow.

Has anyone else done one of these? is there a way to make an impression with any of the adcomms?

Has anyone had any luck negotiating scholarships at SMU? I received a larger scholarship at Wake that I was hoping SMU would match

CW is that SMU doesn't negotiate. While that seems to be strictly true in that I've never heard of anyone having luck asking for and getting an increase based on what another school puts on the table, they're not above calling with a better offer to fill out the class in the last days before orientation (a friend was called during orientation at the school he was going to the day before SMU orientation).

Mine did too..... What does yours say at the top?? Mine says something about decisions not being released over the telephone....which makes me nervous because I thought that the Dean called to give decisions?? Ahhhh now I'm nervous that its a ding!!!

I believe that's just to let you know that calling them would be futile and that they will call you to notify. I got first notice of my acceptance via telephone.

Mine indicates that too. It's not worded to indicate a decision has been made though. I think it says that decisions won't be released over the phone so that applicants don't call asking for their decision. It does indicate that "official" decisions are mailed because thats usually how it works for all law schools (they say that so that any accidental admit email or status update doesn't bind them, I imagine). Often times the Dean or someone in admissions will call the applicant (or email them) to give them an "unofficial" decision. We're still in the running, Dutchess! Good luck!
